Can I switch out my fries at QS restaurants?

The restaurants at the hotels or at the parks give you fries with the burger or nuggets. Am I allowed to trade out the fries for something else? I am an adult but could I get one of the kid sides, like grapes or apple slices?

I know you can get a kid's meal and switch out the fruit for fries but don't know about the opposite. Would make sense you could.

It isn't going to be an issue at most places.

My trick for checking what my options are: If you use mobile ordering, you can pick from whatever side options come up with the entree (for example at CHH the side choices are hushpuppies, carrots and green beans, apple slices, fries, house-made potato chips, and vegetable rice and at Cosmic Ray's I can select from fries or carrots- last month was green beans). A good way to see what's offered without having to ask is to check there first. If you know somewhere has a side that doesn't come up as an option on mobile ordering (like grapes or apple slices that come with a kids meal), it's worth ordering at the counter and asking for the substitute, most places are happy to do this.

Yes. You absolutely can pick your side, or no side at all. I often get grapes or apple slices instead of fries.

You definitely can trade in your fries for a different side. I've done this many times & Disney is great about it, as some people can not eat fried foods. Usually it's a side of pasta salad, fruit cup, cole slaw or something else equivalent which are all perfectly fine. I think one restaurant even offered a small side salad - which was also fine.

Disney is pretty good about substitutions like that, really. There are a lot of people who don't want the extra fried foods.

You can even request no sides. Lots of times I will request just the burger itself with no sides. It costs less $ if you don't get the side item at most places.

This is one of my top money-saving tips when I'm helping others with trip planning. You don't have to order what's on the menu. You can get things the way you want them. We will typically get one "meal" with fries for the 3 of us to share and then just 2 individual sandwiches. We don't need or want 3 orders of fries. One order is plenty for all of us.

Asked for just the sandwich at Electric Umbrella last week. Was charged only for the sandwich. Got fries anyway with the meal.o_O
