Can I switch my ressie once its made?

Lets say my home is Wilderness Lodge Villas. I can book there at 11 months from when Id like to visit. At 7 months if I decide to go to Key West instead can I then switch? Or do I "use" the points when I first reserve?

You can change your reservation as-long-as there is availability anytime prior to your scheduled day of arrival.

Making a reservation at your home resort at the 11 month window as a backup is the right idea. You can then try to make a reservation at a different resort at the 7 month window if you wish.
