Can I swap points from different UY/memberships for a reservation?

I will be closing on a VGC contract next month with a Feb UY. Contract has 100 banked points that will expire Jan 2022. I have a couple reservations booked for Jan 22 with Dec 21 UY points I had transferred to me (booked within 7 month window). When I close and receive my VGC points can I ask MS to swap out the Dec points and use the expiring VGC
points instead?

No because they are different memberships and the points would not be transferable due to having been banked.

Banked points can not be transferred so there is no way to use them.

If the points were in current UY status you would be able to do it.

Thank you. Even though I’m not looking to have the points transferred, just basically want my reservations cancelled with Dec points and rebooked with Feb VGC points but without actually cancelling them or risk losing them to other’s waitlists?

Your contracts do not have the same UY so will not be under the same membership number so cannot be used for the same reservation without transferring them so as everyone has explained this cannot be done

Hold on, you can actually do this if your regular membership/UY is also Feb (same as your new VGC contract which I assume is an addon). If the Dec 21 points are already transferred into your Feb UY, you can use them together with any other points in that same Feb UY. Should be easy to modify your reservations yourself online as long as the reservations didn't use home resort priority.

You may be right. If the reservation is in the same membership as the new points, then the points can be swapped.

Good catch as it may be the points transferred were Dec UY but that the Op doesn’t own a Dec UY.

The only difference to being two people is that you can see bookings on both UYs in your dashboard, and there's a drop down when you search.

I was more referring to how to use the points, but good point that you will see both at the beginning.

StI’ll have to toggle between and if you search and don’t remember to choose the membership you want, you have to start again.

Well darn again, my UY is August. LOL! I’m adding on what I can at VGC and don’t care about same UY as the points won’t be used elsewhere but same UY sounds like it would have been handy for this particular scenario.

Aww too bad. I also have VGC in a separate UY for exactly that reason - I use it only for VGC. You can try to cancel one day at a time and quickly grab it with your new banked VGC points but it’s risky as the waitlist or someone else might pick it up. I try to do it in the middle of the night if I’m swapping points from my two UYs. Good luck!
