Can I substitute a QS for a TS?

I was just wondering if I can sub a QS for a TS credit. I am worried that I will not be able to get a TS for a day that I have planned to be in the MK for example and I was wondering if we have to use all of my TS credits as TS meals or can I use a TS and have a QS instead? Not sure if all of that makes sense.....

In the past it was yes. Don't know if they change the rules from year to year. When all the TS were booked in 2006 they exchanged a TS for a counter and 2 snacks or somekind of lanyard.

I am hoping they do this again as you never know if you miss the TS for whatever reason then you can just eat at the nearest CS.

are you going during Free Dining? If yes, that is when they have set up an easy exchange of TS for QS+snacks or QS+trinkets due to lack of availability.

If you're not going for Free Dining, then you can ask at the Concierge Desk in your hotel -- historically, they have been able to trade Table Service for Counter Service. But when it's not Free Dining, they will just trade them straight-across, one for one (no bonus snacks or trinkets.) Some folks have reported that cashiers at the counter service cannot make the exchange, so suggest you try your hotel desk first to get the credits transferred.

We are going during free dining. Aug 24th to 30th. I am just so paraniod that I am not going to get the ADR's that I want. I was really just wondering if they would trade straight up, but if they will do something special to make up for it, my daughter could use the extra snaks or love a special trinket.

We are going for FD Aug 23-30 and I am worried also about getting the ADR's TS that I want. I can call on May 25. I remember when I booked the FD the CM had asked if I wanted to upgrade to the Deluxe Dining which was way too many TS meals for my family. I said no and because of all the TS meals and she said you could convert the TS meals to QS, but I didn't want to upgrade and spend more money. So it can be done. Just call and ask the CM how it works. Good Luck a little over 3 months to go!!!

Ditto here .... traveling 8/26 - 9/1/09 and worrying about getting those ADRs all made for the TS credits. It would be nice to be able to convert them to CS and extra snacks or whatever since I think the girls (8 and 6) would probably enjoy that more and we wouldn't have to worry about racing all around to get to our ADRs.

Is this usually the case - that you'll b able to convert TS to CS, or has there been a free DDP period when this was NOT done? Thanks!

We've spent a TS credit on a QS meal a few times. We've done it right at the cashier.

We didn't think to trade it for a QS and a snack or trinket.

If you get to trade, you don't get the snack or the trinket unless you are trading during the free dining period (assuming Disney allows the free dining trade again this year). If you're trading at any time other than during August/September free dining, it's a one for one exchange, no extras like snacks or merchandise.
