Can I start taking the Pill without gaining?

I've lost 18 lbs since 1/1/04 and don't want to loose any momentum. Can I start taking birth control pills and not gain weight?

when i started the pill, i didnt gain any..i actually lost a couple of lbs..it depends what kind you are taking i think...i was on ortho tricyclen low...

I lost weight on birth control pills too. I had been having a horrible time losing - the birth control pills seemed to even out my hormones and dieting was easier.

I stayed away from birth control pills for a long time out of fear of gaining. I am happy I finally decided to try because I love the pill and I didn't experience any weight gain.

The old, higher dose pills often caused weight gain. But the newer lower dose ones on the market today have cut down on that side effect.

I am on Ortho Tri Cyclen Low and have lost 34 pounds, so nope, it hasn't affected my weight loss!

I avoided BC pills for the longest time because I hated the water retention and weight gain. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore because of the irregularity of these crazy perimenopausel years, and I told my Dr. that I'll take the irregularity before weight gain. She prescibed Yasmin, and I never gained an ounce!
