Hmm...
Somehow on FRIDAY (10/6) I got a room at OKW for 10/8 and 10/9.
Here are my thoughts as the Queen of late booking
1. Peak times. I don't try. The few times I am going that I KNOW are peak (one Christmas trip, one President's Day) I did have plenty of advance warning and booked far in advance. (President's Day I did the day by day) Did Christmas 10 months or so in advance.
2. Things I really want. I KNOW that every year I really want to stay at BC for Food and Wine. I don't do it 11 months in advance but generally before the 7 months window opens (probably by 9 months in advance) I book what I want. Never had an issue.
3. BE FLEXIBLE For this trip I called and said I will take any studio or one bedroom. Got a one bedroom at OKW. I actually wanted last night too, but it was booked so I stayed at a Courtyard.
I agree that if you want to book at very busy periods for both Disney and
DVC then you have to plan in advance. I don't agree with the view on these boards that the addition of SSR had made it impossible to book late. I find it actually has made it easier. There are more rooms to book. (Contrary to DIS board myth "SSR" is not the "Root of all evil" with DVC LOL! Just wait until all those VAK owners start "stealing" your rooms OH MY! )
To the OP. Disney will not give you a fair price. Contact a broker!
