Okay, I just want to make sure I have this correct:

For my regular 35 mm camera, the camera and all film-used and unused- should be in my carryon bag. I shouldn't pack any film in my regular luggage-Correct??

For my digital camera, I can pack it away in my regular luggage and I don't have to worry about erasing anything-Is that correct?

Can anyone clear this up for me??

You are correct on both counts, HOWEVER, I would never pack a digital camera in my checked luggage only because I would not want it to grow legs and walk.

Actually, you're right-when I reread my post I thought the same thing. I do plan on carrying my digital camera with me. But-the digital camera can go through the security scanner at the airport-Correct?

Yes, your digital camera can go through the scanners, no problem.
and, the media too. :)

Because of the scanning of the checked bags, this year I went ahead and purchased a new, dedicated camera carry-on. It's large enough to hold my film, digi camera, film camera & camcorder. I still have little cases for each, but for traveling, it was great to have everything in one bag.

Next year, the one thing I will do differently since we stay off-site and have a rental car, is that I will not buy my film before the trip. I will just go to Walmart or somewhere in the area of our timeshare and get my film once I am there, thus eliminating one trip thru the Xray and also reducing the amount we carry.

sounds like a plan!!! Just an FYI, if you are Sams club member there is a nice new one on 192 in Kissimmee. Their prices on film are excellent.
