Can I resize a pic to make an avatar?

I found a pic I want to use for my avatar but it is not the right size. How can I resize it?

You need editing software. If you post it here, someone can resize it for you.

Most pictures don't make good avatars unless it's something very simple and graphic. When it is reduced to 50 X 50, so much detail is lost most pics are unrecognizable. We'll be glad to try though.

well, it is the "Bob" the tomatoe that I already have. The pixils are 38 X 38 and I thought it would look better at 50 X 50

ok I guess that wasn't the right one..... I tried to find several different sizes before I found on the right size. Anyway, let's try again.....

Personally, I like the bigger one better. I like his smile better, but i don't know how to make it smaller....... and the other one seems too small
