I have never rented a stroller before, can I rent a double stroller in the park? Any idea how much they run? Do I need to make reservations ahead of time?? Are they side by side strollers??? Are they worth it, or should I just bring my double jogger??

You can rent a double stroller in each of the four major parks. If memory serves they cost $14/day with a dollar refund if you turn it in at the end of your day. I may be off by a dollar or so.

As far as if they're worth it or not is a personal decision. Our family drives down and we need the stroller space for our bags so we rent them or just bring our small umbrella stroller. If you have small children you will definitely want some kind of stroller/"stuff" holder. I have found the stollers at Disney very easy to handle.

Edited to add: I do not personally have a jogger so I'm not sure how they work, but you will need to be able to fold it up everytime you travel from place to place. Also the Disney stroller is hard plastic and does not lay down.

We always rent our strollers from A Baby's Best Friend www.abbf.com in Orlando. They have more than strollers, also, but their doubles are very comfortable for our children, and roomy and with lots of storage underneath. The thing I really like is that we have it the entire length of our stay, because (*gasp!*) we don’t go to the parks every day. LOL It is a long walk to the parking lot and it’s nice not having to carry our little ones. Also, it is at my hotel when I get there and picked up after we leave. Very convenient. Also overall it is cheaper than renting at the parks.

You can rent double strollers at any park. We got ours free because we were the first family to rent a stroller at Epcot that day. We also got a crown and certificate for each of the girls as well.

How are your children? Where are you staying? On our most recent trip in October 2004 mine were 5 1/2, almost 4, almost 2. We brought a Peg Perego single stroller that had a running board on the back that allowed one of the older kids to hop on for a ride but not sit. Then we rented doubles in the park for the older 2. I used the multiday rental which gives you something like 10% off but the real advantage is that you don't have to stand in line to pay again. This worked out well for us. I liked not having to drag our double and a single on the bus/boat/monorail..... The park strollers are nice and easy to push but they don't have baskets and they don't recline.

On our January 2004 trip we took a double umbrella from home and rented a single from ABBF. We had great service from ABBF.

Our stoller plan is to take our Jeep umbrella strollers (with shade) with us to the airport even though our 3 and 4 YOs can walk. Our strategy is the shorter line at airport security. Once we get to WDW, we will then rent the double stoller. Last year that worked out perfect, the stollers they rent are great for storage and both kids tooks naps in them, they are the kind that are low to the ground and the kids can lay down in them.

My DD'sare 4, 6, and 7, the BEST money we spent last week on our vacation was renting a double stroller in the parks. The first day you rent you can pre pay for as many days you want and recieve a discount.. I think 10%. My DD's took turns and by the end of the trip they had figured out how to fit all 3 of them in there.
