Can I relax now?

This October will be our first trip to WDW. I just want to make sure that there is nothing that I need to do for our trip between now and sometime in October.

This is what we have done:
- booked flights
- booked resort
- booked park passes
- made all ADRs (restaurants, Pirates & Pals, BBB)

Is there something that I am missing?

If not, I am just going to sit back and try not to think about Disney until closer to the time. A few weeks before we go, we'll tell the kids and they can help us figure out what rides to make a priority. We'll also put our order in to Garden Grocer and pack etc.

Thanks.

Pretty well set. I would say to keep reading here for changes, updates, additions. Between now and Oct, there could be changes as the 'magic+' program gets rolled out. Good to follow Josh at EasyWDW too.

Enjoy your trip, get ready to make those first time lifetime magical memories. :cloud9:

That's a great tip. It's possible that pre-booking of FPs will be an option by then, so I'd at the very least check back a little over 60 days before your trip.

To the OP: I applaud your control. I can't just let things go when it comes to Disney trips. I'm constantly tweaking ADRs and trying to find tid bits of info that may be helpful, but not necessary.

Same here as far as ADRs go. I think the only one that I haven't changed is BOG, and I still keep hoping for a better time on that one!!

Have you planned out which days you are going to which parks? I assume so since you have made ADR's. It is just a good idea to check with Josh's best days schedule at EasyWDW. This way you will be at the least crowded parks. After that, you do need to know where to head first once you get to each park.

Start worrying about hurricanes? Or get trip insurance? It's the tail end of hurricane season, but Florida gets the most October hurricanes in the country. So it would be a good idea to have a back-up plan.

Lived here since 2008 central fl NO hurricanes had a few tornado warnings & a tropical storm wouldn't exactly worry about it, BUT travel insurance always a good idea IMHO

That's because October ones are rare, but they do occur, about every ten years or so. Last one was in 2005, I believe.

We tend to go to WDW during hurricane season, so that's always one more thing on my watch list. It was weird to go in March this year - no hurricanes to worry about, but it was rainy, cold and windy. I think I prefer hurricane season, LOL!

If you go to Disney's website, you can order personalized maps. You can choose your favorite rides and attractions and they're marked on the maps. They're not maps I'd take to the parks but they'd be fun to show your kids when you tell them about the trip.

We go in August, so hurricanes are always in the back of my mind.

In 2008, Tropical Storm Faye wasn't even mentioned when we left. A week later, it was knocking on Florida's door on our last day.

One thing that would really have helped, and that I've brought on our trips since then: a map of Florida's counties. The news coverage spoke of warnings for different counties, and I had no idea how close they were. Download a map of Florida by county, and put a star where WDW is. (According to wikipedia, "southwestern Orange County, with the remainder in adjacent Osceola County") Then pack it with your papers and don't sweat it.

Thank you everyone. I had completely forgotten that I posted this after I made my ADRs at the end of April.

I did forget about the Photopass so I'll have to book that. I'll also have to book tickets for MNSSHP.

Thanks for your tips!
