I did so well last year losing weight for my vow renewal once that was over though I backslid back to my original weight. During Christmas I got VERY ill and gained 40 pounds while on massive doses of Prednisone. Now I need to take that weight off plus what I had regained. I need to lose nearly 85 pounds to get to my goal weight. Dh and I are starting the South Beach Diet starting tomorrow.

Can I rejoin this wonderful group of losers??

Hi there.. we are so glad you are here!

Of course you can come back... I have restarted more than once myself.. however, thanks to this wonderful supportive WISH bunch, I have maintained the weight I have lost this time, and am on my way to losing more!

You already know what a great source of support this board is so I don't have to tell you that. What you may not know is that we have a South Beach thread that we post to daily for an extra special dose of encouragement, plus some of us on the journal board have South Beach journals and that might give you some added encouragement and ideas for menus.

We're happy to have you back with us and I know you'll take off that 85 pounds in no time! I have lost 42 pounds since December 1, 2003 with the help of DH, SBD and this board. I'm looking forward to seeing you post!

i'm so sorry to hear you were ill, hope you are healthy again! my DD has just increased her prednisone and she's about to eat us out of the house! didn't i just read that prednisone hunger is genuine feeling of hunger? anyhow -- i hope you aren't putting guilt on yourself for that downtime. you are taking the right step to regain your healthy lifestyle, kudos to you!

I hope that you are feeling better and that you are or will soon be prednisone free. DH had that problem and got the "Jerry Lewis" look. Once off the prednisone things are looking much better.

Thank you so much for the warm Welcome Back!!! Ya'll made me feel so good.

I started SBD yesterday and it really went well. I didnt feel hungry although dh did. I have a bit of a nasty headache today and Im wondering if it might be from the lack of refined carbs. I was bad too and I stepped on the scale. TWO POUNDS DOWN in ONE DAY!!!

I will check out the SBD thread today while Im eating lunch.

Im trying not to kick myself for the weight gain because I was on Prednisone which is well known for this but sometimes its hard when I catch a glimpse of what I look like in a window or mirror.
