Could someone give me a feel if this can be done in 6 months? I am going to be in school, and my break will be next March. According to my honey, he doesn't want to get engaged until this fall. And, we want to do our site visit in December like we normally do. Is this really pushing it?

I don't see why this would be a problem. The only thing is that you might not get the exact date you want or the location if you don't plan it early. I was told when I called that the pavillion books very quickly. The other thing that might make it difficult is if it is a custom wedding. I am doing an intimate, so I don't really know too much about customs, but it seems like a lot of planning goes into them.

We started planning for our May wedding this January. With Disney it is REALLY easy. I am having an intimate, but we're adding on a few things like a lunch afterwards. I completely understand, my DH2B and I are both still in school so we felt like we had to get it done this May or we would have to wait until our Christmas or Spring break. I had my heart set on a May wedding, and I didn't want the crowds that come with Spring break. :bride: Best Wishes!

Disney can absolutely plan a wedding for you in 6 months or even 1 month! The truth is, most of your major planning, whether you are an intimate or custom, doesn't start until about 6 or 8 weeks before your wedding anyway. My suggestion would be to contact Disney once you know what date, location, and times you have in mind, and make sure you have a couple of backup ideas. In most cases, Disney will not even have you sign a contract until 8 months out.

Thank you guys so much for the hope!!! I am prob crazy to try and do it this quick!

I got engaged in Sept of 2003, with a wedding date of 20 March 2004. I never did a planning session or site visit and planned the entire thing from California, while my now husband, was in Korea. Disney can make anything happen. Luckily, tho, we wanted a wedding in the YCg and Ariel's, neither of which we booked, but if we had wanted the WP or come of the other available reception locations, then we may have ended up losing out booking s much later in the game then everyone else. There was a WP wedding happening within the same time frame as our 4 PM event.

:earsgirl: My fiance and I were orginally getting married in October up in CT; but my mother was diagnosed with inoperable cancer so we are speeding it up. We are trying to decided between Disney or moving everything up here. If we decided on Disney we would be looking at the end of June. I spoke with Disney and they said usually they like at least 2-3 months; but they can get it done. I spoke with the swan they only need 48 hours. Hope this helps.

My fiance and I just went down this past weekend for our site visit for a September 1 wedding date...less than six months away. I wouldn't be concerned doing that locally and I am much less concerned doing it in Disney. Locally I would not have a wedding planner other than me. In Disney, they take care of all the details except your budget;-) You should be fine. Plus, you can contact the sales department now and start getting an idea of what you want and where you will plan stuff. I first contacted my sales manager over a year ago...
