Can I Really Keep My Mouth Shut For The Next 6 Months? Update 6/4 Link to TR

I totally forgot to do my countdown yesterday. Christian had a game last night and I didn't get home until after 11pm so I didn't get back on the computer:scared1: So I'll double up today
:banana::banana: 6 Days Until Disney :banana::banana:

At 6 days out I was looking forward to the Kilimanjaro Safari at AK.

I am so excited to try my new camera out on the safari this year, maybe I'll actually get to take a decent picture of the lions this time around!

Wishing you luck on taking the pictures! I signed up for a photography class this summer at the community college...hoping they will teach me how to use this fancy camera DH just thought I needed!

Do you mind sharing where you got the wooden swords to paint for your Peter Pan theme night? Thanks!!

You've inspired me :) I picked up yellow yarn and $1 frying pans at the Dollar Tree for our Tangled theme night. DH is so excited, he can't wait to surprise the kids!

Wow a photography class sounds like fun, I took one back in high school but that was so long ago. After years of Kodak Easyshares (I think we've had like 5 or 6 of them), DH told me to go and buy a nicer camera for my birthday. It's a Canon Rebel, I haven't exactly figured out how to work all of the settings and such with it yet. I'm one of those people who don't read directions, I try to learn as I go but with this one I think I'm going to have to read the manual, lol.

No problem, the swords are actually a hard paper, thicker than poster board. I got them at Michaels. We've had wooden swords before that the kids have gotten at the Renaissance fairs but they get hidden by mom very quickly:rotfl: Would love to hear how your theme nights are going, make sure to post pics over on the families thread!

Me too, I took the camera for a test drive when we went to the zoo last month and it's sooooooo much better than any other camera I've ever had!

I use a Canon rebel and just love it! I can't read directions - they just don't compute - but, if I have someone instructing me, it makes so much more sense. I keep my DSLR on automatic so much of the time. I do mess with the settings sometimes - but only when I have a lot of time to figure it out. Mostly I just deal with the issues when I get the picture into photoshop.

Have fun with that new camera!!

So far I have just stuck with the automatic setting too!

::cheer2::cheer2: 5 Days Until Disney :cheer2::cheer2:

Today I am looking forward to Chef Mickeys!

I know it doesn't have the best food in WDW but for us this is always a must do. We all love to see the Fab 5 without having to wait in long lines at the park:thumbsup2

With only 5 days left you'd think I'd be busy today getting things together for the trip huh? Guess again, I didn't do too much of anything today :rotfl: Getting anything accomplished with the children home is nearly impossible anyway so today I just focused on cleaning the house and doing laundry. Christian had a double header but I only went to the first game because the second one didn't start until after 8pm. I was going to pull out the suitcases once the little ones were all asleep but Sam just would not fall asleep tonight so he ended up passing out on the couch while I watched a movie. I'm heading up in a bit to pack some clothes I pulled from the laundry I did today, seriously this packing would be soooo much easier of the kids knew about the trip and I could just keep those darn suitcases out, :lmao:

So yesterday was the boys feild day at school. They had so much fun, there was a moonbounce/obstacle course/slide thingy that they went on a million times plus lots of fun games for the kids to do and they stuffed themselves with snow cones, popcorn and hotdogs. While there I reminded Ben's aide (he has a one on one aide) about our upcoming trip and she said she'd remind his teacher about getting some work for him to do while we are gone. I figured he could use a clipboard and do the work in the car. This is the note I got from Ben's teacher in his agenda yesterday

Mrs. B
Liz said you asked about work for Ben when you go to DW. I'd rather Ben just have fun and let's skip the work! The parks will tire him out, so let him spend his energy having fun!

I showed Christian the note and he said he wished his teachers would do the same, :rotfl: Sorry kid there's a huge difference between 2nd and 10th grade! I just thought that was super nice of Ben's teacher, even though Ben is the one kid that actually likes to do schoolwork:lmao:

Here's a few pics of the boys feild day

That field day looked like lots of fun! We have DS's the same day that we have his graduation in June! :lmao: I am so glad that the kids staying up late for no reason and not sleeping when i need them to doesn't only happen to me!

How hard to hide the packing! Good luck.
Looking forward to your photos of the safari too, my favorite ride at AK.

Sending good luck vibes today that you can get some packing done!

When do your kids get out of school? I was thinking that they would be done about the time ya'll go - but I guess not! My youngest is in public school - and they would be getting out this week on Wednesday, but we had unprecedented snow, so they don't get out til Friday of this week.

No it's not just your DS, because of Sam's ADHD he has problems sleeping at night most times so at the doctor's advice we give him melatonin before bed. It usually does the trick but every once in a while Sam is still up way past his bedtime!

Your trip is so close, how exciting!!! :cool1:

Can't wait to see your reveal.

Thanks, I know 4 more days! I'm "borrowing" some ideas from your kids reveal so you may regonaize a couple of things, lol!

I didn't realize how hard it would be, I almost got busted today by Sam, he started to come in my room and I yelled, I'm naked! He quickly shut the door :rotfl:

Thank you, I did get alot done today, plan is to have it done by tomorrow night!

Nope, our kids don't get out until the 14th, but those last few days are 1/2 day fun days! I've never taken the kids out of school before and didn't think I would ever especially with Christian being in H.S but we had to postpone this trip a couple of times already because of DH's work so when the FD dates came out this was the one week that worked out. The week we will be gone is just a review week for finals for the high schoolers, Christian is a very good student and I spoke to all of the teachers, actually he had to have each teacher sign off that he would be able to miss their classes. He stayed after school last week and is staying after this week to get the review work from his teachers to do while we are gone!

Oh wow, my son has ADHD too. I have never thought of mentioning it to his doctor though about the sleeping! I am interested in seeing/hearing about how he did at Disney! I am a little nervous about Damien he gets sensory overload and he gets a little..... would crazy be an okay way to describe it???

We have taken my youngest out of school each time we've gone - I'm all about it!:)

With getting out in June - when do ya'll start school? We go back sooo early - August 8th!

:cool1::cool1: 4 Days Until Disney :cool1::cool1:

Today I am looking forward to trying new things.

Both my DH and I agree that each trip we would like to try new things whether it be restaurants or attractions we had not done before . This year we have only 2 new restaurants on the list, Tutto Italia and Ohanas dinner. Some things we'd like to do in the park are the American Idol experience, my SIL said it was fun and since we will have 2 days in DHS why not try it? SWW is the biggest new thing for us, after reading all about it on the boards this weekend I can't wait!

I would definately suggest it to the doctor, we also have a presciption for him for something to help him sleep when the melatonin isn't doing the trick. In the past we have never had any kind of meltdowns in WDW but I have to admit I am a bit nervous. Sam's only been on his medicine for a little over a year now and around 6pm when his medicine wears off you can definately tell the difference! He just gets super hyper at times. Yes crazy would totally be a fitting word, lol. I thought about giving him his medicine a little later in the moring but I don't know. It will be interesting!

Our kids go back to school at the end of August, it used to be after Labor day, then it was the week before and now it's more like 2 weeks before, they go back earlier every year. Which Christian hates because we always used to go to the beach on his birthday and now the past 2 years he has been in school for his birthday :rotfl:

:dance3::dance3: 3 Days Until Disney :dance3::dance3:

Today I am looking forward to enjoying the little things that makes WDW so magical!

There are so many special little things that Disney does to bring out the magic. There are too many to name them all but one of my favorites are hidden Mickeys. While we don't go all out with the books and do a big hunt for them it just brings a smile to my face when I find one!

So much to do today. On the agenda are pedicures for the princess and I, ponchos since the forecast is not looking great :(, get singles from the bank so I can do Mousekeeping tip envelopes and get things together for Sam's feild trip to the zoo tomorrow and still working on the packing situation. DH's job today is to pick up snacks from Sams Club and get the car cleaned. I need to get as much done as possible today because I'll be on the feild trip tomorrow and then Wednesday I want to be able to just work on cleaning the house and finish up the packing!

My son doesn't take the medicine yet, I wanted to see how he does in school first. So now with the doctor we are thinking of putting him on it during the summer just so that he can adjust before school starts and because June is going to be a crazy busy month for us that I don't think that I'd do well with him on the medicine and having to get everything done! But we have an appointment at the end of June so I will talk to them about it then, thank you for that! My main issues are that he's for the most part on a schedule and when it's interrupted he gets a little freaked out, so that's my fear but I am sure that it's just in my head and will work out!

So the big reveal is almost here too right? I am not sure I remember you saying what you were doing for the reveal, but if you needed help getting things organized before the trip another DIS PTR said that she had the kids going around with a treasure hunt and they would get clues as they did the little work (like making beds and so on). I hope that you get everything done!
