Can I put a gift card towards a room only reservation

Usually when we travel to Disney I just use any gift cards that we have accumulated to put towards our balance of charges on the room near the end of the week in order to use them up.

This year, because of some very generous Christmas gifts and because I suspect that we will use mobile ordering whenever possible, there is a possibility that our room charges will not be large enough to use up the cards we have. (On a side note, I'm somewhat irritated that mobile ordering goes directly to a credit card instead of total room charges and if we used the Dining Plan I would be livid!) Anyway, the intent of us receiving these cards as gifts was that we'd spend them on our upcoming Disney trip so I want to use them up.

Long story short, is there any way that I can apply the gift cards to our actual room only reservation before they charge our credit card for that?

Thanks for the help!

Yes, you can call ahead of time and apply the gift cards to your balance (not sure if RO payments can be made online). Everything should be automated, so no need to talk to a CM (unless you wanted to). If you do online check in and have a cc on file, your reservation will be charged to that cc the morning of your arrival. From some reports I've read, it might be possible to have that charge reversed when you arrive and have the gift cards applied, but I have no personal experience with that. If it were me, I'd pay the balance ahead of time with the gift cards so there's no charges/credits to deal with upon arrival. Have a great trip! :wizard:

I did pay my room only reservation deposit with a gift card, on the down payment, because of using Florida residents discount I was asked online for a Florida address credit card, I only put $10 on my credit card and use the Gift card for the remaining balance, afterwards all payments where done with gift cards by phone.

You can call and pay off the RO reservation over the phone, with a gift card prior to your arrival.
