I have a really BIG guy - he will be 3 a week after week get back from Disney.

My ?= We are traveling with a party of 17 under the grand gatherings. I would rather just choose off the menu - and be done w/it - under credits . He will be the only 1 - that we'll have to pay for ... and the other 16 will likely need to wait for us.. to pay the check etc..

I'd rather not do this.

THanks in Advance for any help/insight!! We are leaving this saturday

Only if you register him on your room reservation as being 3 years old.

If you do that, and you are on a package reservation that included tickets, you will also have to buy him a park ticket. As far as Disney is concerned, he will be 3 years old for tickets too.

You would also have to be cautious about the possibility that registering him as 3 might cause your party to exceed room capacity, for example, if you had registered 4 persons plus a child under 3 with a room that has that as maximum capacity.

Should you decide to make the change you must do it no later than 72 hours before your arrival if you are on a package, 48 if you are on DVC reservations.

I would just leave him as is because it is unlikely that your party will have to wait on you to pay his bill. Even when you are on the DDP, your server brings you a check just like normal. You then have to provide the server with your KTTW card so they can swipe it as payment for that meal. If you have OOP items on your bill, just give them a credit card or cash when you give them your KTTW card and you'll be all set. We did this quite a bit for drinks and we never experienced any type of delay.

in addition, you can take him to any buffet or family style meal and he can eat all he wants for free. This is an advantage if he is big and likes to eat, unless your group has only a la carte restaurants booked.

Not really worth it.. especially since you are talking about potentially a few extra minutes. As others have posted, there is still a bill etc that has to be settled.. whether by credits or $$$. Plus the extra cost of park tickets.. not worth it IMO.
