I have heard that ID is required when using your 14 day flexi-ticket, although in 2001 this wasn't asked of us. Is a photo copy of your passport ok?

Also is a photocopy of passport ok for cashing travellers cheques (again was rarely asked) and for alcohol ID (- OK i'm 33 but you never know - LOL!)

We don't have the photo id driving licence and would prefer not to carry passports around (again!).

The photo id for the flex tickets, is usually only needed when you first get the tickets by exchanging the vouchers. Or when you first use them if you already have tickets. We never bothered to take id when using them apart from that first time. (I could be wrong though?)
Same for Disney tickets, which rely on the finger thing to prove id, after that initial visit.
When are you going, because I would thoroughly recommend the photo driving licence, it gives piece of mind on these occasions.

Sorry, I can see when you're going now. Might run into you, we'll still be there for 4 days when you arrive! Is it a green ribbon that's the usual signal?

we used phot-copy passport photo's for Flex ticket ID's, although we only needed this on entry to the first park visited !

I would echo getting a photo driving license. I found this July they were asking for ID more and more. Even sometimes when using a credit card they asked to see ID or when using $50 and up travellers cheques. Oh and definitely have your ID with you if you want a drink at any of the Universal parks - they have a 1 ID 1 drink policy and will card anyone they think is under 30.

Also if you were planning on going to Pleasure Island and drinking they won't accept a photocopy I.D. either. I got quite used to putting our passports in my bum bag and carrying them around with us - I just figured that I didn't want to lose my purse and I carry that around with me so what the hell with the passports - if I did lose them then I'll just to stay an extra couple of days whilst they get sorted ;)

Seriously though I know it's a little late for the photo driving licence I.D's but I do recommend getting this for your future trips and if you can'tdrive then what about getting a "citizen card".

Thanks for all your comments - shall just carry passports around as usual.
