Can I park at the Poly when dining at Ohana?

We are staying at CSR and have dinner reservations at Ohana at 8PM. Can we go early and park at the Poly and then take the monorail to MK for a few hours, and then take the ferry or monorail back to the Poly for dinner so we don't have to worry about the MK bus as MK closes at 9PM that night? (wow that was a long sentence, sorry about that)

The short answer is that Poly parking is for people staying there or dining at the hotel, that does not include you going off to Magic Kingdom. Sometimes they check ADR lists when you are entering the parking lot for the resorts near a park. If I were you, I'd just park at the TTC and leave the car there.

When you head through the Poly gate, they will issue you a pass good for 3 hours. You may not park there for longer unless you valet your car which is somewhere around $12 or so and that is not including tips. It would be best to park at the TTC as the PP suggested.

We've never received a 3 hour pass when we eat at the Poly. We just show our resort key and are ushered through the gate...

They used to but don't have to now. Since the resort guest passes are now issued at the gate the only one's without passes are cars that should be there for only 3 hours. Easy to see. They can record the time of entrance at the gate house.

Parking at the resorts is NOT for MK access. It's for ADRs and short visits. The lots are just too small to accommodate anything more.

We swing by the Poly on a frequent basis to have breakfast at Kona and have never had a problem. Just tell the guard at the gate you're going for dinner, etc., and you may be asked if you have an ADR. If you don't, just say you don't. As mentioned, you may park to dine and maybe check out the shops, but not head for the park. I have heard of cars without a resort parking pass occasionally being towed after 3 hours.

The solution is quite easy. Park at the TTC and take the monorail (or ferry) to MK. When you're done, monorail to Poly for dinner. Walk back to the TTC from the Poly to get your car - it's a 5 minute walk to the edge of the TTC from the Grand Ceremonial House.

You can park there if you have an ADR, but you may not be able to stay. They do sometimes give out parking passes. If you want to go to Mk I would park at the TTC and walk over to the Polynesian from TTC.

Thanks for the replies. The only reason we are taking our car is we don't want to be stuck there if all MK transportation has stopped after it closes. But, if it is a 5 minute walk from TTC to the Poly we will just park there as we don't mind the walk. We wouldn't get to MK till about 4PM on that day as we like to take a swim break in the afternoon. I wasn't sure how close TTC was to the Poly as we have never stayed or been to the Poly.

As mentioned, it's a short walk and there is a marked walkway. We've done it many times.
Have fun!

It might be just a five minute walk (that part is right) but if you are there after MK transportation closes down then the trams will likely not be running out to the parking lot either. If you are parked wayyy out that can be quite a walk.

I occasionally go over to the Poly for a meal and maybe more or less and I just tell them at the guard gate what I am planning on doing. Sometimes I am given a three hour pass (although the last time was years and years ago), one time a pass but no time limit (NYE) and sometimes just told to go on in and park and have a good evening without receiving a pass. My car has never been towed from any Disney resort except for the three! (yes, three!) times I had car troubles and had it towed on my own to the Car Care Center.
