Can I park at Poly?

We are staying at AKL for our upcoming trip. We have early ADR at Kona for breakfast (7:30). I'm thinking of renting a car, so I don't have to do the bus ride to MK and then the Monorail to Poly, which will require we start out about 6:30 from our room.

If we drive and park at Poly, can we leave our car there for the day while we do MK?

I know we can park at other resorts, but can we do it for the day if we're eating there?

They give you a 2 hr parking pass when you are eating at the resort. You are not suppossed to stay there for the entire day. I do not know if this is enforced.

You may not park at a resort you are not staying at in order to spend the day at a park even if you are staying at another Disney's resort. You will need to move your car after you are finished dining at the resort, or in the case of the Polynesian, park at the Magic Kingdom lot and walk over to the Poly'.

Sometimes the guard takes down your license plate number. Now they could tow the car away if the lot filled up and they wanted to.

Have you considered taking a cab. Seems cheaper and less hastle.

Valet park and you can. I think it's $14.00 now.

That's a good idea. I wasn't thinking of renting a car for one day to go have breakfast. I'm thinking of renting it for the entire stay to have more freedom to move about the parks and resorts. AKL has the worst location for transportation, so having a car would allow us to get between resorts and parks more efficiently, depending on the day's plan.

When you get past the Magic Kingdom parking plaza, stay to the left. There will be Cast Members directing cars to, well, parking spaces. Keep asking to park as close to the Polynesian walkway as possible.

Parking at resorts is not provided for park access. If you wish to use the amenities at a resort, and then head directly to a park you are going to have to pay to valet park. Self-parking is for those who are either 1. staying at that resort, or 2. using the amenities of that resort. 'Using the amenities' does not include heading to a park.
