I'm assuming that to make DRs I need to have a ressie, right? Is a room-only ressie ok since package prices haven't been released yet?

You need to be booked in a pkg OR room only resort reservation to book 180+10; however, anybody can book at 180 days. i.e. you don't need to be booked at a resort anywhere on site to be able to do that. :):goodvibes

So with a room-only ressie I can book 190 days in advance... otherwise, I can book 180 days in advance with no ressie at all - is that right?

That's where it gets confusing...you can start booking on day 180, but you can book up to 10 days after that day.

i.e. my day 180 was May 19th for Nov 15...the +10 enabled me to also book 11/16-11/21 on that morning.

Without a confirmed Disney resort reservation, you may book dining up to 180 days before date of dining.

With a confirmed Disney resort reservation (DVC Points, Packages, Room-only, doesn't matter), you may book up to 10 days (inclusive) of dining starting 180 days before date of check-in.

180+10 is a description, not addition :)

So, using the example above, she could have made ADRs for 11/16-11/25 if her trip was that long. Any longer, and you fall back down into the 180 days before dining category.
