I was wondering what you guys thought about lowering my count by not counting five young children. The ADH only offers buffet and they kids wont eat much so I was thinking I would not count them in my total. I just dont see the point in paying for programs, favors, kids meals, rose petals, and place cards for kids that wont even need them. My friend did the same thing at her wedding and she said no one noticed. Even if they do I was thinking I could just say some unexpected guest showed up.

Has anyone done this before? What do you guys think?

It stinks!
Why cheat? Wether you belie:sad2: ve in the 10 Commandments or Karma it just isn't right.

No offence but I dont see it as cheating. A three year old is not going to look at a program, take a favor, eat very much if anything because our wedding is late, or be able to read a place card. Yet the number you give Disney is the number you have to pay for all of those things. If anything I feel I am being cheated because Disney is willing to charge $150 +++ for a two or three year old to attend.

I've read on the boards that they are extremely strict about the number of people, and that if more show up, they can stop your wedding without notice. What about having a small babysitting party or something for the kids? That would probably be a lot cheaper.

Thanks DMslush,

Thats why I was asking to see how strict Disney was. My friend did it and it was no big deal but she did not get married at Disney. Thanks for the heads up. Now I am nervous about actual unexpected guests. What do you do if someone brings an unexpected guest? It happened at a wedding I was at and it was so embarasing. They didnt notice until dinner and they had to make another place setting because it was a sit down dinner.

Maybe you could send out a newsletter or something (depending on how many guests you have) explaining that disney is extremely strict on the policy regarding guest counts. Tell them that you have to have a final count of how many are coming to the wedding and reception beforehand.

You do not have to pay for the same number of placecards/programs as the number of guests!! At our wedding we did not have the confetti or anything for the kids under 6 and our WP had no issues with that at all. We simply told her how many we wanted. Same with placecards - we didnt want any for myself and Dh so we told her and it was no problem.

With regards to food - the kids do not pay a full adult price! We had a sit down dinner and had 4 kids meals for the little ones and was charged $17 for it. Kids aged 3-9 do not need to meet the F+B minimum and can have a cheaper option! Not sure how it works for under 3's though.

I would give you planner a call and tell her what you want - thats what there are there for!

Laurafoster is right...just tell your planner...you have to count them as a guest for food and beverage…but they don’t need the programs… as for the favors/rose toss...the kids are will probably want to participate ...I know our little ones couldn’t get enough of the rose petals

2 and 3 year olds are considered infants, and you don't have to pay for them. I'm having mickey-roni and cheese, chicken tenders and a few other things for $25. That was as of feb this year. They were leniant with us about 3 yr old counting as an infant. I wouldn't try to push it too much, but talk to your planner. You don't have to do place cards or anything else like that, but the food, you'll have to do.

This happened to us!!!! As we were doing our staged exit I realized there was a family there who had not sent in their RSVP and we had never heard from them!!!! I freaked! As we got in the limo and came back for photots I frantically told the WP's assistant and she said it was no problem- she asked what they looked like and made sure they would point them to the right place. They added them to one of the tables that was not as full (it must have been tight) and it didn't seem to cause to much of a problem. Hope this helps!
