Can I link my own reservations, or does DVC have to do it?

We wanted to stay 6 nights at BLT in a theme park view studio in Jan 2015. When I tried to book online at 7 months, I was able to book nights 3-6. Nights 1&2 weren't available, so I waitlisted them. Some weeks later I toyed around with changing our dates. When checking dates, I noticed night 2 was now available. I assume since I had waitlisted BOTH nights 1&2, the system didn't grab that open night 2 for me. So, I booked night 2 myself. So, I have one reservation number for just night 2, and a different reservation number for nights 3-6.

We have now decided to drop night 1 from our plans, due to schedule conflicts. So, we have what we need with nights 2-6, and will stay 5 nights instead of 6. I would like to link these 2 reservations into 1. I have called MS 3x last week, and the waits were anywhere from 25-32 minutes! I hung up, since I was at work. Is calling MS my only option?

Yes. The only way to link the reservations is through Member Services. Try calling at exactly 9am. Enjoy your vacation.

I just remembered that there is now a link on the member website to "chat" with a rep. You can link through that.

Call or e-mail (contact us on website).

If you waitlist 2 nights and only 1 night is available, the waitlist does not pick it up. Both nights have to be available at the same time. That's why it's best what you did. I had the same situation in November, my last night needed did get picked up by waitlist, I then had 3 reservations (1, 2, 3-5), member services combined them when they filled the waitlist for night 1.
 
Don't forget to cancel the wait list since you don't want the first night.

Linking is complete! I emailed MS on Sunday 8/10, and got the automated "we got your email" the next day. Didn't get the "real" email until Friday 8/15 that the reservations had been linked. So, it took 5 days. No big deal, since we have plenty of time.

Yes, as long as it is the same room type. I would use the "contact us" link on the website rather than calling.
