Can I just STOP eating until I lose the weight?

I'm tired of counting points, and choosing the right foods, and I'm plateaued at an 8 pound loss. Can't I just stop eating completely until the weight comes off? Does anyone else ever get to feeling that way? I know I've plateaued because I haven't been getting to the gym lately, but I've been eating pretty healthy, (although I must confess I haven't been good at counting points:rolleyes: )

I'll get back to the gym soon, but I was suffering from severe allergies this week that gave me no motivation to get out of bed and get to the Y early in the morning and I'm a morning person, so if I don't go in the morning, it just doesn't happen.

Sorry, but I just needed to vent.

I hear you. Some days, everything goes so easily. Other days, it seems like nothing is ever going to work.

Could you add a walk in the evening, or another easy type of exercise? It's not the same as going to the gym, but it might be better than nothing.

Don't get too frustrated. If you eat a consistent menu, maybe you won't have to count for a while. You should have a pretty good idea of what (for example) chicken and rice and veg. equals. The downfall is you may start to count more "loosely" and end up off plan entirely.

Ultimately, I think you need to get up and go to the gym. In your head, you know it and it seems your body knows it. I think you'll feel better about the whole situation if you go. Unfortunately, that's not always so easy to do. Maybe over the weekend you can go a little later in the morning. Good luck, let us know how you do.
 
Annie, I'm sorry that you are feeling down today. Look at the bright side. You've lost 8 pounds. You've made yourself healthier just with that!

Now, let's look at the dull side. It's "boring" eating healthy all the time. You aren't strict with the points, and-if you are like me- measuring has gone out the window. Have you been drinking your water? ALL of it???

How about, for the next 4 days (that's only 96 hours!), you be strict about:
  • measuring the food
  • counting the points and
  • planning what to eat BEFORE you eat. I use Fitday to help me
  • getting to the gym

You can do this. I have a lot of faith in you! Go for it, girl!
 
Plateaus defintately aren't much fun...try increasing your excercise by 10% each day until you break through.

If you stop eating, your body will think you are trying to starve it and it will start storing fat asap...so don't stop eating, and make sure you are eating enough.

Annie and I are in a Sept challenge in which we will be counting and journaling ACCURATELY everyday! We can do this buddy! We will be successful!!!!!

I know what you mean about taking a break for journaling, counting etc. And to be honest I think it's a good idea to do so every once in a while, it refreshes me and gives me a new gung-ho on the whole WW process. I will probably slack a bit this weekend, b/c,well I'm human and I'm choosing too and I'll be ready to kick start it on Monday!!

At the grocery today while I was buying my 24 smart ones (sale and coupon, gotta love that!) there was this skinny gal in front of me buying real kettle korn, dove ice cream bars, wine, real instant Cappucino and I was like "hmmmm all my favorites, NO FAIR! she isn't counting points!" (am I the only twisted WISHer that looks at other people groceries, usually I can console myself by seeing non-healthy folks buy lots of junk food!)

anyhow, my long-drawn-out point is, if you truly are at a breaking point, then take a break and restart. this is forever, make it work for you!! but do it before Sept 1 or you'll be buying me case a vitamuffins!!!

You got it! How much is a case of vita muffins going to cost me? It better be a lot of money to keep me motivated!!!!!

I splurged on a case and with shipping it was like $25 for 12 muffins at roughly 1.50 per muffin, plus shipping. Now I know when I worked at the hospital there was these huge Otis Spunkmeyer muffins for about that price and like16g of fat or something horrible like that!

I think if we both survivie that the moderators should treat us!! ha ha ha - just kidding - we love you moderators!!

no when we both survive and report on Sept 31 we will be the ultimate winners and we'll figure out howto cyber-celebrate!!

Come on, Annie, I know you can whoop Molli's behind! You've got the gym, you've got the motivation! Go, Girl, Go!!

Now, Molli, you aren't going to let her get away with that, are you?!? She's smack talking about sending you to the curb! Go, Girl, Go!!

I shall now sit back to watch the action and cheer you on!

Well, yes OHmom is my "blood" but how could I every turn my back on my buddy - AnnieT! Yikes -------------- who has the answer?

I think they both are after a goal that is attainable and I shall be a cheerleader for both - shes kicking my daughter to the curb? mmmmmmmmmmmmm -

but then I NEVER thought that "my child" would recant "you are sooooo mine!" Manners, where are your manners?

Okay so the challenge is on and I think I shall root for Molli on M-W-F and AnnieT on T-TH-S and take a break on Sunday!

Any other suggestions?

And, maybe it should just be 1/2 case of vitamuffins for each of you AND the other 1/2 goes to your favorite cheerleader ;)
