Can I have two reservations?

Hubby has a conference that overlaps with our currently booked vacation. The conference precedes our vacation. I can’t decide if me and the kids will stay with him on our arrival night or just get to our hotel and settle in. Until we decide, can all of us be on two separate hotel reservations on the same dates? What about when it comes time to making fast passes? And what happens once we finally decide and drop one of them for the overlapping nights? Thanks!

Yep, I've had multiple reservations many times! While trying to get a group to make a decision on what hotel we wanted to stay at. I make the reservation when I find a discount or certain room available that I want, and then cancel whatever ones I end up not wanting. Obviously you have to pay the deposit on all the reservations, but when you cancel it gets credited back.

As far as fast passes, as long as you have a resort reservation and tickets linked, you'll be able to make reservations 60 days out. Nothing really "happens" when you cancel the one you don't want - you still have a resort reservation and tickets assigned, so your fast passes are still there.

Thank you! Do you know what would happen in this scenario?

The one reservation would be on my husbands conference hotel - Coronado - which we would receive Magic Bands for. Our second hotel is Dolphin which is booked on points and we can cancel up to a couple of days before (but no Magic Bands). What happens if we receive Magic Bands from the Coronado hotel stay, but wind up either not staying there at all, or taking me and the kids off that reservation a couple days before arrival. Will the Magic Bands work or become de-activated? The room wouldn't be cancelled altogether at Coronado b/c my husband will definitely stay there.

thanks for any insight!

I'm not 100% sure, as I've never cancelled a reservation after receiving magic bands. If you left your name on his reservation but just didn't stay there, nothing would happen. If you decided to take your name off his reservation, your bands wouldn't work for anything at the hotel. But I'm assuming they would still work as a park ticket, since they're already assigned to you in MDE and your tickets would be linked to you as well. That would be all you'd be able to use them for - to get into the park. Again, this is all assumption, as I've never experienced this, but it makes the most sense to me! :)

Yes, you can have multiple reservations. I would just stay on the CSR reservation since it's convenient for your hubby and you are keeping it anyway. Save your points for another trip.

It’s tempting to save the points but we appreciate the space we get at Dolphin with a suite and we also do the club level fast passes there (if it’s running in November!). Plus the ability to walk to Epcot and HS. But we are seriously considering now two nights at Coronado and three nights at Dolphin. Thanks everyone!
