Can I have some Counter Service suggestions please???

FAVORITES:

AK - Flame Tree BBQ! We love this place and eat there every time. We like to get the St. Louise Ribs and the Pulled Pork Sandwich.

DHS - Starring Rolls Cafe and Toy Story Pizza Planet. We were surprised at how good and big the pizza was.

EPCOT - Tangierine Cafe and Electric Umbrella. Tangierine has great food and large portions. The Shawarma Platter is really good. I like the salads at the EU. They usually have something different than just your standard salad.

MK - Columbia Harbour House and Pinocchio Village Haus. They lots of variety and tasty food. PVH has really good sandwiches.

WORST:

DHS - ABC Commissary. We used to like this place but the last couple of times the food wasn't very good.

EPCOT - Cantina de San Angel. I got food poisoning the last time I ate there and was sick for 3 days. I ruined the end of my vacation. I will never eat there again.

Some of our favorites:

MK - Pecos Bills (love the toppings bar for our cheesburgers); Columbia Harbor House (the tuna sandwich is great - sit upstairs for quiet)

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons in FW; Mexico, Morocco in WS

AK - We enjoy Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ (sit by the water - overlooking EE)

HS - None - really haven't found anything here worth dining at.

By the way, check out allearsnet for menus for all WDW dining. It's a great resource! :goodvibes Between the info. on these boards, the wdwinfo site, and Deb's site you can pretty much find anything you want for WDW planning:) .

Okay, I haven't been to WDW since Nov. 06 so I don't know how much things have changed.

MK - Turkey Legs!!!!!! Go to the cart in Frontierland. There are wonderful and great for sharing.

AK - Flame Tree. I have to agree with the posters who like the food and sit down by the water. I had the bbq chicken salad and it was wonderful.

During out trip we ate at cs almost the whole trip. We managed to eat one meal at a sit down resturant and that was because one person in our party was willing to wait at Rose and Crown for an opening while the rest of us ran around.

MK - Pinocchio Village - Turkey Panini (had it in May, PP stating they removed it :confused3 )

EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons because of the variety or in Japan, cold sushi is very refreshing!

DH - We don't do counter service - we usually eat at Sci Fi (best burgers at WDW)

AK - Flame Tree - great ribs

We also like the food court over at POFQ, although if you have the FD, CSR is a good place as well. :flower3:

Resorts:

Mara -AKL had some interesting options that were really good (African stew in bread bowl)

Pop Century food court- The special of the day is usually interesting. The tie dye cheesecake looks gross but it is pretty good

pepper Market (CSR)- the most bang for your buck! You get large portions and in some cases a dinner type meal

POR Riverside Counter- the create your own pasta dish was pretty good. I hated my stay at Riverside but that counter option was pretty good

Roaring Forks (WL)- good breakfast items- seating area is pretty small though

I actually like the Tabouleh wraps that are found in all of the resort restaurants. We first ate them at the All Star Sports cafe in 1999 and we still enjoy them.

Parks:

Epcot:

Sunshine Seasons: This fits the bill for my family. There are many things to choose from and everyone is happy.

Tangierine Cafe: Excellent food very large portions

MK:

Columbia Harbor House: The sandwiches were really good! Different from the burger fry combos

Cosmic Ray's - again lots of choices-everyone is happy

DHS:

Commisary: DH likes the Cuban sandwich as well. He's a Cuban sandwich fiend!

AK: We've never eaten here except for snacks.

DTD:

Earl of Sandwich: This is really good. My daughter doesn't like the toasted bread so she gets a salad or a soup.

Wolfgang Pucks: really good selections.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons

AK - Flame Tree BBQ -- although I've heard great things about Yak and Yeti too but never tried it myself

Studios - I don't really love any of them but the kids love Pizza Planet and the BBQ sandwich at Studios Catering Company is pretty good.

MK - Cosmic Rays

MK - Casey's, CHH
RIP Dear Pinocchio's Village Haus - no Figaro Fries or Panini = no reason for me to go back

When did PVH take Figaro Fries and Panini's off the menu? The Dis board still shows it and it was updated in Jan. 2008.

Here is a list of my families favorite counter service locations.

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.

Epcot: Electric Umbrella.

Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue & Pizzafari.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: Earl of Sandwich.

Grand Floridian: Gasparilla's Grill & Games.

MK - Casey's, CHH
RIP Dear Pinocchio's Village Haus - no Figaro Fries or Panini = no reason for me to go back
Flavorless dry cardboard burger at Pecos Bills and fatty and ultra rich meals mixed with more cardboard burgers at Cosmic Ray's have removed them from our rotation

Epcot - WS - everywhere!!

Animal Kingdom - We just go back to our room or DTD since we're not fans of smoked meat and don't like the looks of the menu at Flame Tree

Studios - Backlot Express was OK. We did NOT like Pizza Planet or ABC Commissary.

No Figaro Fries at Pinocchio's Village Haus ! I was so wanting to try those. Can i find figaro fries anywhere else?????

epcot-mexico stand is pretty good, had the cs in japan and was not impressed at all
mgm- rosies
ak- ate at flame tree and had the dryest ribs in my life
mk-harbor house

No Figaro Fries at Pinocchio's Village Haus ! I was so wanting to try those. Can i find figaro fries anywhere else?????

The menu I just reviewed (Allearnet.com) from May listed both the panini and the fries.

Some times during the holiday season (Christmas week, for example) some menu items are briefly removed to speed things up. Maybe this happened at Pinocchio's? Not sure when the poster who noted this was at the MK....:confused3 Otherwise it's a recent change....

One of my favorite CS meals in DHS is the Toluca salad at the Toluca Legs Turkey Co. I know that it sounds gross, but I will occasionally get cravings for one they are so good.

It's a standard garden salad with refried beans, corn, and pulled pork on it. Very refreshing and filling. I found that you don't need dressing on it. The beans give it a nice creamy dressing taste to it.

Our favorites in the parks are:

MK Columbia Harbour House for the tuna sandwich and the clam chowder, with Peco Bill's a close second.

AK Flame Tree Barbeque since they changed THE BEST CS in the world (Tusker House) into a TS.

DHS Nothing is great, but the Backlot Express is passable. We usually do a TS lunch here, and then a CS dinner in WS.

EC Lots and lots of Great International CS in WS. Our favorites, in no particular order are:
Cantina de San Angel in Mexico
Sommerfest in Germany
Yakitori House in Japan
Tangerine Cafe in Morrocco
French Bakery in France
Harry Ramsdens Fish and Chips in the UK

Have a Great Trip

We'll be doing counter service pretty much exclusively on our upcoming trip, so all of these suggestions are very helpful.

MK - dh and i love the chicken wrap at pecos bills! nice alternative to burgers. casey's is really good too.
EPCOT - we are fans of lotus blossom cafe.
DHS - we usually head towards RNR & TOT and get food at catalina eddie's. also, for a snack - the spicy cheese stuffed pretzel and frozen lemonade at min & bill's are great!
AK - we like pizzafari - dh especially enjoys the italian sandwich with the caesar salad on it.
happy planning! :thumbsup2

We don't eat a lot of fast food, but our favorites

AK - Pizzafari (our favorite is their Italian sandwich--yummy)

EPCOT- Tangierine cafe (Lamb shwarma sanwich - out of this world)

MK - Columbia Harbour House & Casey's Corner

Where is Sunshine Season in Epcot?
