Can I have a travel agent fax in a 2007 Suite Request

Hi Debbie,

I believe anyone can fax in the request. However, my Dreams Unlimited agent already sent in my 2007 suite request and it was really nice having her take care of everything for me.

How do you request a suite in 2007 if the rates aren't available?

Hmmmm - when I asked with DU I was told I had to wait until the rates were issued. No offer to fax in the suite request, so I did it myself......this was the same person who told me before my cruise last year that I had to wait to board to reserve Palo vice having it set up through Debbie at DCL, so I just called myself to do that, too. I get the feeling not all DU reps know the full scoop on all of these things.

Cat 1, 2, and 3 Suites are so popular that people fax requests to Inventory Control years in advance. I just got a call that my request for a Cat 1 was available for a August 2006 cruise. While on the phone I was surprised to find out that there are requests as far out as 2021.

The bottom line is that if you really want a suite fax a request as soon as possible. The price of the suite is an issue that you can deal with later "if" your request is available.

You (or your TA) can absolutely fax in a request now. DCL keeps a file of those suite requests and when the dates become available they call people in the order in which the faxes were received. Each family has a reasonable amount of time to either confirm the request with a deposit or to "release" the request (basically saying we don't want it now). If the first family doesn't want it, the second family gets a phone call.

You will have your best success if you send in a range of dates (ie. we want a cat 1 suite in the spring of 2009 as opposed to we want the WD suite for May 14, 2009). The sooner you fax in your request, the better your chances. There's no down side to making a request early--you are not obligated and no $ are tied up.

Actually I made a request last year for a Cat 1 in August of 2006. On July 5th, 2005 I received a voivemail from Inventory Control at 10:00 am which basically stated that I had until the end of the day to get back to them. If I didn't call them back they would call the next person on the list.

I didn't necessarily think one day was a "reasonable" time, but then again I was on the phone with I.C. in no time so it wasn't an issue for me.

Buddy Bear.....I used the term "reasonable" because I've had a CM tell me that I would have 3 days to respond and another one said I'd have 1 day to respond. I didn't want to put wrong information on the board and I wasn't sure which was correct, so I used a nonspecific word. Wasn't trying to offend in any way....sorry.

No offense taken, I was trying to convey a little sarcasm which was directed at DCL about the "reasonable" timeframe, but sometimes it is tough to do that when you can't add body language of voice inflection.

I would have thought they would give for than a day to get back to them, but it wasn't the case with me.
