I'm in Savannah, and we never get snow. However, for southern standards, it is FREEZING here. Can I pretend there's three feet of snow outside and cuddle up with my kitty in front of the TV under a comforter for the rest of the day? Can I? Huh? Can I?

Not unless you come and shovel out my driveway;) and bring a rock to put in your pocket

OT: are ya'll about to get ALOT of rain? My husband said I better not risk driving down there right now because of all the rain coming your way and then me trying to get back home before another snow storm.

We use snow days for (sub)freezing temps here in NY so I don't see why you couldn't down South too :)

I'd like a "snow day" - mid June/July-ish. Perfect day. One of those days you can go for a walk, and then sit in the sun and read a book.

;)

I don't call that a snow day I call it a mental health day. BTW I am here on the boards because I really do have a snow day, the fourth one this week. Our return flight was canceled on Sat. didn't get on a stand-by flight until Tues. morning early and then got hit with another blizzard Tues. night-got the phone call from school and our schools have been closed since :surfweb:

Yes, there is talk of us getting some of the precipitation that is hitting the north. I just caught a tidbit from the news, but it sounded like a big 'un.

Are you going to WDW?

ETA: I just looked up the weather report for tomorrow and this is what it said:

"Friday Night
Snow and rain likely in the evening...then a slight chance of snow after midnight. Lows in the upper 20s. Snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent."

Lucky for me I have plenty of bread and milk in the house!

I have only been here for 5 years, but from what I understand it only snows like once every 10 years or so. In fact, a couple of years ago I heard that the last time it snowed, the principal of the elementary school my DS10 goes to announced on the PA system for all the kids to put on their coats and go outside to see the snow!

I'm originally from Detroit and I remember snow days. A few years ago the Governor here declared 2 energy saving days in August.:confused3 Now we start school around Labor Day.
