Hi Ladies,

I need some help... I am planning an Escape wedding and am looking for options for a nice dinner for 25 people.

Is it possible to get a nice selection for Under $70 a person.

Either a buffet at one of the smaller rooms or a plated meal..

If so could you help me with ideas

Location?
Selections?
Price?

Help.....

Thank you all for being so wonderful and helpful

Definitely!!! We are doing our buffet for $70 a person and having a ton of food!! The only problem you might run into is meeting the minimum if you chose a small room (like Whitehall Patio). I know you could definitely do that at some of the restaurants.

I am an Escape bride and we are having our reception at Citricos in the GF for about $70/person for a 4-course meal including beverages, but I don't think they offer anything less than that price. I do know that you can rent out Sago Cay Point (where a lot of dessert parties are held) because we were looking into this venue as well. SCP gives you the ability to customize your menu making it possible to make it under $70/person since most of the meals themselves are under that. Additional items might put it over like bar set up, dessert options, etc. But there is a minimum at SCP that must be met. I have dinner menus for SCP if you need them. Hope this helps!

We had a lunch at The Attic, for about $47/pp, not including drinks. I haven't done the math yet, but we had a beer & wine bar and rough estimate would say it came out to about $70/pp when all was said and done.

And we had tons of food, with lots left over.

Italian Wedding soup
mixed Green salad
fruit salad with Amaretto
Penne bolognese
Grilled chicken with sundried tomoatoes and cheese in a cream sauce
Porkloin in a mushroom white wine sauce
Marinated grilled vegetables and asapargus
Rolls
Garlic bread

Everyone raved about the food!

Hiya!

We currently have 29 people.

We are having a Dinner buffet at the Attic and our costs are $62pp I think give or take a little (but I think its 62!)

We are having on our buffet

Mixed Green Salad with toppings;
cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, brocolli, carrots, marinated mushrooms, olives, cheddar cheese, bacon & croutons. Dressings.

Cooked to order;

Rigatoni Mariana accompanied with warm breadsticks, focaccia, shaved parmesan and red pepper flakes.
Chefs selection of seasonal vegetables
Jack Danield glazed breast of Chicken
Grilled Flat iron steak with a sweet onion ragout
Beer battered fish & chips
Creamy white Cheddar mashed potatoes
Assorted Rolls and butters

ALLL for $62 pp!!!

Hi!
We are doing a lot of appetizers (6+ different kinds) and anti-pasta at Sago Point in GF for dinner and the fireworks. Granted ours is a small, but I was assured that this would be enough food and would feed the pickiest of eaters. Plus, we could afford to go all out on desserts for Wishes fireworks. Ours is around $70. There are also small rehearsal dinner/lunch packages that can also save you some extra funds.

I am having a lunch at the Napa room, it's a buffet with salad, 1 app, 2 main courses, and desserts plus cake for $46/person. We are doing a bill on consumption (BOC) bar, it's an early lunch so I don't expect a large bill. This will help us save because our family really doesn't drink, only our friends, and that's only 8 people. So my lunch for 24 adults and 6 children is coming out to about $55-60/person and $20/child.

Hi there, thanks for the info.... I am curious would you happen to have the menu choices for the Napa Room? Is there a minimum for lunch?
Is the room private?

Thanks for your help!!!

THANK YOU ALL for your help...

I am trying to do everything in my power to keep cost down but at the same time make it a memorable day for everyone.

Please keep the ideas coming, if it wasn't for you all and this board, I wouldn't be able to handle the stress of planning this

We are doing the Napa room for lunch too. I was told $1,000 for the food. Tax and tip will be about another $300.

This is the link I was given http://www.disneycateredmenus.com/menus/CG/CG_All_Menus_v092109.pdf

It is private, and the lunch minimums are $1000 or $1500 (can't remember which), which is so budget friendly.

Thanks for posting this menu. All the others I've seen have been a little "exotic" for my taste. I am a pickey eater. But the lunches look perfect. Does anyone know if you can get this kind of menu in the Key West room at GF?

If you have it at the Napa room to they set the cake up there too or do you go over there after your cake cutting?

Everyone's help is much appreciated!!!!

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the Cali Grill is much stricter in the menu than using one of the rooms at the GF. There might be standard menu options but you could pick anything.

I am having my cake set up at the Napa room, we are bypassing the cake cutting at commanders terrace completely.

I believe the CG menus are only for CG, it may not be available in other ballrooms. And if you decide to have your lunch/dinner at the Napa Room there is no tastings. They are very strict.

Hi there... If you bypass the cake cutting ceremony do you still get the violinist and the drinks for toast or do they just move everything to CG?

I really don't know, we were planning on having an iPod set up so we wouldn't need the violinist at all. The toast is included no matter where you have the cake cutting. Just a tip to save some $, serve half glasses of champagne at the toast.

We used the St. James room for less than 30 per person- it was a lunch reception the food was AMAZING and I liked being the only ones there.

This sounds like what I am wanting to do (especially price wise) My ceremony is at WP so I would like to have the reception at GF. What did you have? Does your wedding planner send you menus when you tell them what you are looking at doing? My wedding is 11/21/10 so I can't book yet, but being the big planner I am I would like to go ahead & figure out what I want to do for the reception. Do you have a menu you can share? Thanks!

BTW, you pics are gorgeous!

I had an Escape wedding at SBP, so St James Room at Boardwalk Convention Center was the perfect choice. My planner (Amy) sent me a few options at different prices to pick from. I will look around to see if I can find the menus- I know I have pics of the food to show too. ( I really should update my PJ-I'm terrible!)

This is something I am also interested in doing, heading over to your PJ! :)
