I would like a carry-on bag that fits under the seat in front of me. I've been using a light canvas tote, and everything falls all over and becomes a giant, jumbled mess.

So I thought I would come and ask the experts. Do you think this is a decent bag? I only fly once or twice a year so I don't need anything to fancy or too expensive. TIA!

That's a really cute bag and seems very well organized, but have you read all the reviews on it? Only 89% recommend it. Before I buy anything online I usually want to see at least a high 90% rating. Reading the reviews the biggest complaints seem to be about the "flimsy", "wobbly", "unreliable" handle though, so if you baby it, it should be OK.

Cute bag, but my real first thought at looking at it is, 'don't get one with a single post on the pull-out handle!' The only bag I had with a handle like that (as opposed to the handles with two posts) lasted 2 flights...any twist or torque on that puppy and it's broken off in no time.

Size is good for under the seat, though. I have a laptop bag from ebags, that unfortunately, I didn't see the exact one on the site anymore. It looks similar to this: http://www.ebags.com/product/samson...tside-mobile-office/211166?productid=10128582, but measures 16 x 13 inches.
It fits under the seat in most cases, unless I am in the aisle seat on certain planes....for some reason, the seat supports come under the aisle seat differently, so the underseat storage space is larger for middle and window seats. One does also have to be mindful of how much other space the airline is now claiming under the seats, for life jackets and power ports...that space gets smaller all the time!

Good luck!

Do you really need a rolling bag? In my limited experience, a rolling bag generally weighs more and loses a little in capacity due to the wheels/arm(s). But, I do see that this bag weight less than 5 lbs. I have an Ebags brand cross-body purse that I've been using for a year now and its holding up very well. So, I think the brand is good.

If you still want to look around at other bags, I suggest the Baggallini bags. I had a very useful (and largish) tote from them that was probably the best tote I ever had and good for travel. If you really want a rolling bag, I'd strongly consider this one (esp. given the pp poster said about single posts): http://www.ebags.com/product/baggallini/rolling-tote-bagg-17-crinkle-nylon/72971?productid=1283545

I have something similar from LL Bean, and I LOVE it

Fits under any airline seat I've ever been on, and fits easily in most overheads.
