We have 7:30 am reservations for breakfast at Chef Mickey and I was wondering if anyone can tell me will I be able to get there within 30 minutes using Disney transportation? We are staying at the Pop Century. If we are late will we loose our reservation?

I would probably give yourself more time than that....maybe an hour. The buses might not be running as frequently that ime of the morning and you might find yourself waiting a long time.

Not unless there is an 8am EMH that morning.
Safest bet (but it'll cost you about $20) is to take a cab from Pop to the Contemporary directly, it'll take you less than 15 minutes that way.

I've heard that there are busses running by 6:30 am. I would be out at the bus stop at 6:20am.

It takes 30 min to get from POP to the MK area by bus, and that's without traffic backed up ON a direct bus. You will definately need more time than that! I'll second the cab idea. It's the only way that you can ensure your time of arrival.

January 2008 we did the DDP for the first time, and went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast (from ASMo) for the first time. Our ADR was for about 8:30 AM, we took a taxi and were STILL late - silly me, I forgot all about the WDW Marathon that morning!!!

We ended up being about 15 minutes late for our ADR, but they still seated us (though we ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes). I don't know if that is what they do standard, of because a lot of people were delayed by the marathon. :confused3

For an ADR more than 1/2 hour before a park opens, I'd DEFINITELY say take a cab (if you don't have a car). Don't put your faith in the hope that there will be a bus. True, if you take a cab, there will be 3 buses waiting. If you don't, the first bus won't show up until 8:40...

The buses are running early enough to accomidate early ADR's. We had a 7:30 am reservation at The Wave and make it in plenty of time from Pop. I think we headed out to the bus at 6:40 and was early for our ADR. Just give yourself a little extra time.

Not a problem. You can get a MK bus about 6:40. As you get on the bus, ask the driver which is faster..monorail or walking..to the CR. The driver may very well offer to drop you off at the CR rather than the MK. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
It is about an 8 min walk from MK to the CR..actually it is faster to walk than to monorail since the monorail is in the opposite direction.
The early morning buses don't run quite as frequently as the normal buses, so be sure to be out early enough. If the MK is just pulling away, you may have a longish wait for the next one. I don't think it takes 30 mins to get from POP to MK..more like 15-20, tops.

If you want to get there as fast as possible take a taxi, assuming you don't mind paying for one. However if you want to save you're money wait for the 6:30 AM bus to the Magic Kingdom and once you arrive there walk over to the Contemporary.

We stayed at Pop in aug and had a 7:05 adr for Chef Mickey. We got the bus at 6:30am and the bus driver asked if we were going to CM's and he took us straight to the Comtemporary. We made it there before our adr and walked over to MK in time for RD.

Yes.

This can be true from any WDW resort in the early morning.
Board the MK bus and tell your driver that you are going to breakfast
at either the Contemporary or the Poly.

(S)he may be able to take you directly to either resort ether before or after the MK stop.

All resorts have "Character Breakfast" buses that start early. Get out to the bus stop early, and you shouldn't have a problem. If by some chance the bus makes you a little late, explain to the cast member at the podium and they'll be able to work something out for you.

Thanks to all of you for your information. I was able to get the reservations I wanted without the worry if I would make it there on time or not.

Thanks to all my Disney people out there!

This is incorrect. It takes no more than 15 minutes for the bus ride between Pop and the MK. The difficulty with getting there on time is in catching the bus in the first place.

I would definitely allow at least an hour for your transportation. In all likelihood it will take far less than that, however it's always best to err on the side of caution.

Enjoy your breakfast!

As many others have advised - get ready and out to the bus stop early. The day before your breakfast stop in at the resort lobby and let them know you have a breakfast planned early for the next morning. See if they have any new suggestions. We've booked early and took the bus without any trouble. But it is sometimes true that the buses are out early, but not as frequent. I have always found that the cast members are usually accomodating and will do what they can to make sure everyone is seated for their meals. Chef Mickey is one of my all time favorites. Enjoy and wave your napkin high over your head!:cool1:

I'm going to move this over to our transportation board for you.

The buses to the MK start running every day by 6:30, sometimes earlier. They don't come as frequently as regular buses do, so plan on there being a good 20 mins in between buses. This is the major time killer for early morning ADRs.
I have found that the resort CMs usually have little to no idea as to the transportation there. They may be able to suggest calling for a cab, but that's about it. If they had messed up somehow, they might offer to drive you to your ADR but that doesn't happen often.

If you are late you will definately be seated. Our first trip years ago we had ressies for the Breakfastasaurus in AK. We got in line, got into the park, were waiting around, and missed the whole "ckeck-in" thing (newbie mistake!) Anyway, it was 1/2 hr after our ressie and they seated us just fine.

Fast forward a few years, we were in MK and has ressies for Crystal Palace. DD was being bratty and we didn't make it to breakfast (I know - really bad form - a no-show) An hour or so later, we went over ot see if it was possible to be seated, and they were great! We had a table in 15 min.
