I see pictures on websites of banners and balloons in the cabins. The Disney site mentions baskets etc. but nothing about Bon Voyage decorations. Any way to get this done so it will be there when the kids open the cabin door?? Thanks for any replies!

We (my travelling other mom and I) decided that we wanted to do it ourselves. We gathered things for months for goodie bags and the door magnet. We made teeshirts and found cameras at Circuit City with Disney characters on them. Candy for the movies, gold doubloons for pirate night... on and on. Then we came aboard, sent the rest of our families off to the pools and the buffet. Under the excuse of Palo reservations, we went and made reservations, then dashed to the rooms, and decorated like mad. Even our CM got into the fun.
After about 15 minutes, we "strolled" up top to the buffet and waited for the surprises to unfold. It was priceless and we had a ball doing it!
If you are not this crazy, contact Shirley at a Perfect gift- she is totally fabulous!

I think Disney still has the Bon Voyage decorations. I ordered them for our Panama Canal Crossing cruise back in May and they were fabulous!!!!! We left them up the entire cruise and then I packed them away and put them up in our family room when we got home!!!!!!

The package was $30 US and it included a banner, tabletop decoration, hanging decoration and a cake.

to me, you can not beat DCL for the room decorations - I believe for the money you really receive a lot - it saves you time and money - NOW for the gift baskets, I believe we have DCL beat :)

HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYBODY.
Blessings always
Shirley

How do you order these decorations?

You can call 1-800-601-8455.

The Bon Voyage Package is Item #1171
The Congratulations Package is Item #1170
The Happy Birthday Package is Item #1169.

If you have any more questions, you can send me a PM.

Does the package cost include a CM putting up the decorations, or does the cost just include the items? If it includes labor, it is a great deal.

We have had Shirley do a birthday cake "basket" which included a Mickey balloon and all the fixings, and it was quite festive. Delighted the birthday girl and all others.

Yes, I have been told by several people that it does include a cast member doing the decorating. This will be a wonderful surprise for my kids and DH.

The CM's have your stateroom all decorated for your arrival day....when you open the door for the first time and see them it is priceless....they look fabulous!!!!! Well worth the $30!!!!!

SouthJersymom:

go to the Disney Cruise site - upper right choose "My Disney Cruise" - then on left choose "My Cruise Gifts and Amenities" - here you can view all the amenities packages - if you pick "Stateroom Celebrations" - you can view small pics of the decorations (not the cake) - this will give you an idea of what to expect - happy shopping! :wizard:

Yes..when you order the decoration package a cruise castmember puts them all up and they are hanging when you first arrive in your room at the stated time. Don't expect them to be up if you peek into your cabin before time..lol. We have purchased the bon voyage decorations and they are great. Would definately do it again.

Does anyone know if they will decorate on a day other than the first day of the cruise? I would like to get the decorations put up for my son's birthday - the fourth day of the cruise.
