Can I get away with no bag?

remember, they have lockers right at the main gate, and they are not very expensive. This way you can bring your stuff but not have to carry it around all day.

I made the switch to going bagless when they started going through the bags with a fine tooth comb. You should have seen the lines at AK when we walked up last Friday. They were AWFUL! At this was at 11:00 or so, not even rope drop.
But all rows on both sides of the bag check were at least 30 people deep. It was so bad they had folks come to the no bag line and they started checking bags there too.
No, all lines are not that bad but lines that bad are getting more and more frequent each trip we take.
I carry my phone, a Vera zipper pouch that holds my ID and credit card, my phone and a lip gloss. Oh, and a cloth to clean my sunglasses.
All of those items fit in the pockets on my Sparkle Skirts.
Those things have paid for themselves 10 fold just for the convenience of going without a bag

I agree, August is soooo hot! Although my 12 year old actually said she was cold inside a resturant our last trip in August. I told her she was the only person I ever heard of being cold at Disney in August :rotfl:
I'm like your DD. I freeze in air conditioning. I keep a heater going at work, in the summer when it's 95 outside.

I got excited when you mentioned the Sparkle Skirts but when I Googled I realized they weren't what I thought they were. I wish I could remember the skirt someone around here pointed me to one time. I thought it was longer than the ones you referenced. Hmm... I do know it had great pockets though!

EDIT: Found what I was looking for! http://www.macabiskirt.com/ Phew, they're not cheap!

We never carry bags. One person will carry a phone and I carry a small wallet and keys and a tiny bottle of sunscreen.

I have to laugh at the comments about being cold in August. Yes, sometimes that A/C can be super chilly!

Do things stay in the Sparkle skirts? Are the Pockets zippered?

Good idea to pump out some Sunscreen.

Lol. True that. Not in the evenings either?
Not in the evenings either. Unless you wear a sweater at home when it's 75 and humid :-)

If it's cold in a restaurant, just step outside for a few minutes to warm right back up.

if the sweater is the reason for bag tie around waist can carry small bag in a pocket. then put in bag after entering in park

I'm wondering this myself. First year without a stroller. Plan to do short stints at parks ( no more than 4 hrs at a time). Hoping to go completely bag less. I suppose the phone is a must and maybe a small thing of sunscreen. No ponchos, no sweaters (July).

Question- does every bag have to go to bag check even a tiny wristlet?

We usually go in August and I bring a sweater because I get very cold when indoors and they have the AC cranked. Once we were stuck on POTC and it the cold air was blowing on us, so glad I had my sweater.

I use a small purse so I just keep it draped over it.

It is so humid at that time of year that you will sweat inside the poncho. We feel just as wet as if we stood out in the rain. Plus, the rain feels good after being in the heat.

Sometimes. DD carries a wristlet that holds nothing more than a phone and an ID and some guards see the size and let her in the bagfree line and others point her to the bag line. I'd guess it's 50/50

We still carry a backpack. Holds our phones for rides, sunglasses for rides, camera. If we know its going to rain our jackets. We thought we could get away without it but at the end of the day we couldn't.

YES!!! Absolutely! Pale Canadians in August... LOL. I guess I just need to get us some cargo shorts... Darn I wish more women's pants/shorts had pockets!
That's how we roll! Cargos every trip, usually everybody! Quick and easy, never leaving a bag on a ride, its just too great!

This would be me too! It's the AC that gets me.

If you're bringing the stroller anyway, and planning on tossing things in the basket, I would also bring a lightweight bag. When we were there, we would park the stroller for long periods (in Fantasyland for example) and I wanted to keep the water bottles with me (and with 3 kids I never go anywhere without wet wipes). I needed my hands free to hang on to the kids, and it was just easier. I really wish we could go "bag free" but there are just too many little things I like to have handy and a full day of convenience is worth more to me than the few minutes of hassle getting the bag checked in the morning.
