We'd like reviews on these TS's (the good the bad and the ugly please) on most of these restaraunts. We chose only a few of our favorite TS's but mostly went for new ones we've never tried. So we need your help!

We're on the regular DDP

Boma =Dinner (been here before and we know we love it)
Oliva's Cafe-Breakfast
O'hana -Breakfast (been here before and we know we love it)
Chef's de France -Dinner
Captain's Grill -Dinner
50's prime time cafe -Lunch
Whispering Canyon Cafe -Lunch or dinner

Thanks so much!

The only one I can comment on is the 50's Primetime Cafe. This is a must for me on every trip and have never been disappointed. The food & service are great!!

I can only comment on O'hana's bfast (which you already know you like), 50's PT for lunch (loved it, as did everyone else) and WCC (have done dinner several times there....fun schtick and decent grub. The kids love it and you won't leave hungry!)

I'm personally looking forward to trying Chef's one of these days though. Let us know how it was when you get back :thumbsup2

Boma is one of our favorites; it's especially great if you are very adventurous.

50's is always good.

Chefs de France-I like lunch better than dinner but dinner is still good.

Captain's Grill-nothing special or unusual but the food is good.

Olivia's-reminds me of a Denny's. It's okay to eat there for convenience but I don't think it's good enough to travel to OKW to dine there.

WCC-one of only two places at WDW that I refuse to eat at again. We have done lunch and dinner and dinner was better.

We just got back from a trip, and I have to pass on that our dinner at Chefs de France was just horrible. The soup and bread were great, but my entree tasted off.

I ignored it thinking it was just because I don't get to eat French food very often, and so that is why it tasted funnyto me. That evening I became violently ill. I will spare the details, but my entire digestive system got cleaned out in a short amount of time.

After it was all of out my system, I began to feel better very swiftly. I do not think I had a virus. I belive I had food poisoning.

There are so many other great places to eat.

I can comment on a few of the restaurants you haven't eaten at before. DH and I did Chefs recently and I was not blown away by the food. I thought the lobster bisque was oily and for my entree I had what is basically the fancy Mac 'n cheese, which was good, but nothing new and probably not worth the price I paid. The service was also pretty spotty, but you'll run into that all over WDW. I liked the ambiance, I think it does feel like you are in a French cafe, and that was the main reason I wanted to eat there. If you are looking for higher quality food and better service, go upstairs to the Bistro.

Captain's Grill- I've only done breakfast there and found it to be fine.

50's (as other posters have mentioned) is really great. I haven't had a bad meal here and I think the waiters and waitresses are really fun.

Whispering Canyon- if you want to be part of the action, be sure to make your ADR during "normal" dining times and ask to sit in the main dining room. The last time we were there we had a really late dinner and were in the back room, so we didn't get any of the shenanigans that WCC is famous for. That being said, I thought that my ribs were done very well and the bourbon pecan pie was really good also. It might have just been the night we were there, or the fact that the kitchen wasn't rushed, but I thought the food was better than the typical Disney restaurant.

Boma =Dinner (been here before and we know we love it) I would skip this one, terrible

Oliva's Cafe-Breakfast Really great! We enjoyed the funky decor and the food was the best, the hash brown casserole was awesome!

O'hana -Breakfast (been here before and we know we love it) We really like it too!

Chef's de France -Dinner We used to enjoy it here but after our lousy dinner earlier this month we will only go for lunch. Everything was served cool or tepid at best so that tells me all the food is just waiting for someone to be the lucky winner and order it so they can serve it fast.

Captain's Grill -Dinner What a surprise to us! Best pork chop I ever had in my life! Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We are going to try lunch here next month.

50's prime time cafe -Lunch Cant beat the fried chicken, sooo good!

Whispering Canyon Cafe -Lunch or dinner We did lunch in Aug and it was horrible! No fun, games or antics, our server was a dull dud and the food was terribly fatty and greasy and just plain ick

Chef's de France -DinnerConsider dropping this, and instead pick up Bistro de Paris, on the 2nd floor of the same building. Quieter, and better food. We ate there last month, and will have our review posted in the near future.
Captain's Grill -DinnerAgree with this. An underappreciated, nice, less expensive choice.
50's prime time cafe -Lunch
Whispering Canyon Cafe -Lunch or dinner

Thanks so much!

Chef's de France -Dinner - Absolutely the WORST meal of our trip. Seated immediately, waited on immediately, close quarters with the next table, very noisy, kid's meals and mine were okay and I KNOW this won't happen to you, but to make a long story short DH had a serious health/safety/sanitary issue with his food :scared1: This was handled extremely poorly (on both our part and theirs) - yes they investigated how the happened and they offered to refund our money. But still - YUCK!
Whispering Canyon Cafe -Lunch or dinner We were seated quickly, all adults ordered the skillets and the waitress was really friendly and prompt and even got youngest DS not on the menu because he wouldn't eat what's on the menu. Chicken in the skillets a little dry (but this happened everywhere we went), but otherwise food was good - especially the potatoes. Also noisy but mostly because of the activities. Which depending upon your mood could be fun or annoying.

We love 50's Prime Time. My DH, DS (15), and DS (13) think their milkshakes are the best! It seems like they have a cobbler that I like for dessert. Their fried chicken for one person is enough to serve two! Delicious! We also thoroughly enjoyed Whispering Canyon. Loud but entertaining.

I can comment on 3:

Olivia's: We love love love OKW, and while I would not make an ADR here (there are too many other places to eat!) we have eaten here during rain storms and it was great! Service was impeccable and food was very good

Ohana's: One of my all time faves.

Chefs: Wow, the reviews here scare me a bit. This is the only TS that hubby wants to do again this year. We ate here our first night last year and it was by FAR the best meal of the trip. Fantastic!

unfortunately there only seems to be 1 so so review and one good review of Chef's De France..think we'll be re deciding on that one!

13 Restaurants + 17 days at the World = one happy momma!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, here goes - my thoughts on the places we ate.

Background - 2 adults, 4 kids and for the first part of the trip - my parents as well.

All of these were dinners.

Cinderella's Royal Table - fantastic for me seeing my little blondie in her Cinderella' dress mee the real Cinderella. The food here was very good. I got chicken, DH got lamb chops. Food was tasty and atmosphere - well, you're eating in "the" Castle, how can that be bad? I give this one an 8 (PS - they throw a handful of confetti on the table for each meal that are white castles and I kept all of them - they just throw them out with the table cloth after each meal anyway).

Coral Reef - I liked this place. The interraction from the scuba divers was really fun. The view of the aquarium was great. I had hoped for more of a seafood selection here but it was pretty much fish or steak and I chose the fish. It was very good. I give this one a 7. (PS - let your kids go up to the window and look at the fish - they love it and it went on all around us so we did it too).

Biergarten - Atmosphere here was really nice. The music was good. The food for me was good. I really only had the sausage and german potato salad but it was good. I give this place an 8. (PS - DH tried a foursome of beers to do a sample and it was only $12.00 I think and he enjoyed that).

Le Cellier - This was really good. I had steak of course and it was over cooked a bit but it didn't matter. It still tasted good. I really liked the atmosphere here. I have to give this one a 9. I know I was lucky to get in but we did have to eat dinner here at 8:35 at night.

Mama Melrose - The food here was average. I am quite sure the pasta was homemade and I am of course used to boxed so that was a little different. All of the entrees were good. Our waitress wasn't that great but that's for another thread . Did the Fantasmic dinner package which was really a great thing to do. I give this place a 7.

50's Primetime Cafe - This was a great atmosphere. Our waitress was so-so but something she did do funny was send in the last spoonful of food to those in our party who didn't clean their places well making a choo choo sound. Food was like you would make at home. I had meatloaf. Others had chicken. (PS - the people in the next room had waiters/waitresses that had them in stitches which I would have enjoyed. I think our waitress was more concerned about her next smoke break because she wreaked of cigerettes LOL - I didn't care - I was in Disney ). This one gets a 7.

Sci Fi - Food was good here - pricey though. Yes, we had free dining so I'm not complaining. However, the bill here was 175.00 for sandwiches. You are definitely paying for atmosphere here. This was my kids' favorite place for the atmosphere alone!! Food did taste good though. I will give this an 8.

Boma - While the food was good here, I didn't care for alot of it. Desserts were really good here. Atmosphere was really nice. I like trying new things but alot of the foods were kind of bland or no taste. I give this one a 7.

Chef Mickeys - This character meal was great. Great interraction from the characters and we all really liked the food here. Ate more than we needed to here. Lots of "normal" things that we all liked. I have to give this one a 9.

Narcoosees - This one my parents did on their own. They just said that the atmosphere was not as amazing as they had thought it would be. They did each get a lobster which they said was great. Based on what they told me, I will go with an 8 on this one.

O Hana - This ties with my favorite. The atmosphere was great. The interraction with the singing lady was great. The games for the kids was great. The food was really great. It all goes by quickly but it was just fantastic. This one gets a definite 10!!

Cape May - This is our other favorite. DH and I love clams as we dig them at the beach in the summer and eat them!! We loved them and the cold shrimp and the crab legs - although DH couldn't get them open We will for sure do this one and O'Hana again!!

Hoop Dee Doo - We did this one because I had done it as a younger child and had great memories. One of the best parts here was that beer was included in the price - all you can drink. This made DH and my dad very happy . Food was really good and atmosphere of course is great. I will give this one a 9!

Hope this helps all of you who are curious. I am always open to answer questions/help in any way. I'm just a girl who loves Disney

Enjoy!

One more thing - when it was the six of us eating these dinners. Our bill was never under 150.00. The average was $175.00 and the most expensive was almost $400.00 for Hoop Dee Doo but my parents were with us for that one but it's still expensive!

We had to pay our tip only and it averaged $20-$30 for our party of six!

If you are looking for something else in Epcot I heartily recommend Tutto Italia. We loved it. Second best meal of the week. Service was excellent, food was mostly excellent (like WCC DH's chicken was a little dry - I think this is WDW trying to kill bateria and instead killing the entree). Unlike Chefs they let whole family share the kids appetizers (fried fresh mozzarella) which were amazing bits of cheesy goodness. Price was OUCH! Only meal we had that was better was Tony's in MK.

Well I'll put in a good word for Chefs de France. We went in August (all adults) and everyone enjoyed their meal. It was actually the best meal of our trip, and we were there for 10 days.

Chef's de France -Dinner - R best dinner in August :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Captain's Grill -Dinner - Very good :thumbsup2
50's prime time cafe -Lunch - My all time Fav. A must do every trip :thumbsup2
Whispering Canyon Cafe -Lunch or dinner - Only been to dinner and it was good. :thumbsup2
