Can I get an update on Harbor side security?

Anyone entering the parks the past few days in the hour before or after park opening? How has security been at the Harbor side entrance?

We will visit for a few days starting Saturday and then leaving on July 4 (yay!!) and I'm wondering how much time to plan on waiting at security in order to rope drop. We have a 7:10 am breakfast one day with a 7am EMH at Disneyland. I'd hate to be late because we are stuck at security.

We are here at the parks. On Monday we were on the Toy Story shuttle at 7:05, got to DL at 7:15, security took 5-7 minutes. We were at DL gates at 7:23. The same times for yesterday as well, except we went to DCA. When we got off the shuttle the CM was directing traffic, telling people the middle was the no bag security lines. Just a hint, the extreme left line had hardly any people in it. Hope that helps.

Here now, today we arrived at 7:25am, took 5 minutes in security. As we left at 2pm for a break no one was in-line at harbor security. We are headed back at 5pm tonight, I will post again later tonight how that looks. Also tomorrow at DL, we have a 7:10am at Plaza Inn so I will post tomorrow on how that goes for us.... stay tuned!

Tuesday I used the no bag line and it was fast. At about 7:10am. The other lines did not look long.

FWIW I also came thru Monday and Tuesday 4pm. There were not any no bag lines. But the normal lines were short - like 1-2 minutes.

We were there last week - Wed-Sat. Only Sat had long bag check lines about 30-45 mins before RD. Otherwise, we breezed through each day (5-7 min waits). I never saw anything as backed up as I had read reports about in the weeks before we were there.

We were there last Tuesday-Sat. Around 9 the lines were stretching down to Harbor. With an 8 opening. See my pics on this thread.

Ok left last night after 3 days in the park and never saw lines really that long at all for security. Maybe 20 people deep at the most. For our 7:10am plaza inn breakfast we got to security at 6:45 and it took us 5 minutes then Went to the far left gate for character reservations and got right in at 7am. Security all 3 days (tues 26th-thurs 28th) were really no big deal, the most we ever waited was 10-15 min. We left at mid day and came back too and it was the same way.

We landed at SNA at 9am and were entering the security line at 9:50. It took 6 minutes to get through

They told me it was only in the morning. I used it at 7:10AM one day last week. When I came around 4PM they did not have it. At least last week.

Yeah, they have been doing this for at least a year now I think. It does seem to only be in the mornings, and I don't know if it's even everyday. I think it might be everyday now but certainly wasn't back when it started up.

We were there 6/21 - 6/28 going into the parks 7 days and never had more than a 5 - 10 minute wait through security. Some security people definitely were more thorough then others so it really depended on what line you got in and who you got.

You should be fine that early. The Harbor line usually does not get bad until about an hour after the parks open. As a precaution however, I would get to the bag check no later than 6:30.

The line was 60 minutes for me Monday morning at 9 AM. It was very painful. By 930 it was backed up to Harbor Blvd (if you were taking the Toy Story bus).

Wow, I have never seen anything like that. I would be really frustrated. Do you know if there was a no bag line?

I don't know. I had a bag so I wasn't really paying attention whether there was a no bag line. I'm not a local so I don't travel that lite.

What frustrated me most was that Toy Story folks were dumped to the left side which only had 4 inspectors and a single metal detector. The right side appeared to move a bit quicker.
