Can I get a Dole Whip during MNSSHP? And other ?'s

Will snack carts and the Dole WHip area be open during the MNSSHP? What other places will be open and do tehy stay crowded- i.e. Cosmic Rays. Anybody seen Sonny singing during MNSSHP?

It depends what night you're going to the party. Closer to Halloween = more crowds, and weekends mean more crowds as well. We went on a Tuesday during Mid-October and the place was dead.

I know I got a a pineapple ice cream (I don't think that's the whip) during the Pirate and Princess party in February, so I would think it likely. As to what else is open, check here:

I simply loved the "priority" you've indicated in the title. Dole whip access is clearly key on your agenda. I should introduce you to my mother. She did get one during the P&PP last summer.

Last year the dole whip place was open.

Most of the eaterys were not very busy after 7pm. We ate late while the parade was going by. After the parade a lot of the people with little ones left the park. We went twice the 28th & 30th the 30th was more crowded but not bad. Again after the parade everything was a walk on.

They will be crowded during the switch over time - like 4-7 when people can enter the parks but the party hasn't started yet. And some won't be too bad even during that time. Yes, I have seen Sonny singing in Cosmic Rays during parties - sometimes they have dance parties in there during the actual party too. And most of the carts stay open, and Aloha Isle is open.

We got them last year, while we did not care for them the stand was open. We also had root bear floats that were awesome, this year I want to try the strawberry swirl one..yummy

Cosmic Rays had dance parties going on during MNSSHP and the Pirates and Princesses party which were actually lots of fun. They also close down everything but the hamburger side during the parties so if you are looking to get the chicken or ribs you need to get there before 7 to order your food, that is what we did last year. If you want to get a Dole Whip and not stand in a huge line during the party you should go over to get one during the fireworks.

This is VERY helpful. I would be wanting to get a couple of the rib/chicken combos to share and would not have known about the closing. Actually, now that I'm thinking about this scenario... we have ADRs at Sci-Fi for 3pm-- we are not going to want dinner before 7. What else is open in the MK during MNSSHP? CS wise, I mean.

I'm not positve but I think that maybe only CS and Pinnochios are open during the parties and they both have very limited menus. You may be better off switching to an earlier TS lunch ADR that day and then entering MK after 4 so that you would be hungry enough to eat at a CS before they shut most everything down for the party.

What t-shirt?

I'm not sure if they have them for the MNSSHP, but the PP may have been referring to a special event t-shirt that is only available during the party at specific locations (check event map for location of merchandise shops).

I know that for the MVMCP they sell MVMCP t-shirts that you can only buy on the nights of the party.

Yeah, I wish I could switch to an earlier lunch at Sci-Fi, but we won't roll into town until 1 at the earliest and then I figure by the time we check-in at ASMo and then take the bus system over to MGM it will be 2-2:30 at the earliest. I may try to get the family up even earlier and try to get into Sci-Fi early, but I don't know if I can make that happen.

Or... I could just cancel my Sci-Fi on our first day...reschedule Sci-Fi for later in the week (having to cancel an ADR for 50s PT for that day-and not do 50's at all) This would give us a much more leisurely pace on arrival day and we could get CS to share at ASMO and check out the resort 'til our room was ready and we could get into MNSSHP around 5:30 to get Cosmic Ray's before it partially closes. Just thinking out loud.

Then what if I asked my Dreams Unlimited travel agent if I could bump a day of park admission off my ressie as the MNSSHP tix would get me in and we no longer need park tix for our first day--- would that work? We do have the MYW package with DDP added. Will that screw up my DDP if I have a pkg for 8 nights/9 days but with tix for just 8 days? That sounds confusing-- can anyone who understands what I am saying respond to that scenario?
