Please don't anyone think I'm trying to scam someone. We had planned to be in DL on my daughter's 6th birday. However, DH just found out this morning that he will be out of town for work that week and we have to push our trip back 10 days. This trip is still a birthday trip - dinner at Ariel's Grotto, birthday bucket, hairdo at LibbyLu.

I feel so bad because I told my daughter she would get a sticker on her birthday and the CMs would sometimes tell her Happy Birthday. Does anyone know if I can request a sticker and just explain to the 'sticker person' that it isn't her exact birthday but this is her birthday trip?

Thanks!

They are buttons, and all they say is Happy Birthday (not "It's my birthday"). Disneyland encourages celebration, and if you guys are celebrating her birthday during your trip, then they would encourage you to get one! They are not sticklers for doing things on ONE day.

Remember how long they celebrated their own 50th anniversary ! (that would be 1.5 years, in case you didn't know...)

I celebrated my dd's 6th birthday at DLR this year on Feb 12, with birthday pin, special meal at Ariel's, etc. Her actual birthday is March 17, but I wasn't about to deal with the Spring Break crowds.

Go for it. DLR could care less when your actual birthday is. Just celebrate!!

Cool Beans.

It is funny you mentioned the 50th Birthday Celebration. My 9 yr old just mentioned that is has been '......Disneyland's birthday forever.'

:rotfl:

I wanted to add that you aren't even really asked if it's your birthday or anniversary or whatever, but the way they put it to us was "are you celebrating anything"? Totally different way of asking it. :)

We did DD's birthday on her birthday but that's because it was on a Saturday, we did DBF's on the Sunday before his birthday. If we do mine it will be either a month early or a week late, if we do DD11's 12th b-day it will also be late. They really don't care, they do ask if it is the day but they give you the button no matter what. And everyone says Happy Birthday, if I see a button I say it too! LOL

DS8's b-day is May7th but will celebrate it with our June trip, His b-day is so close to the end of the school year and DS11 has too many student council responsibilites , we just can't do a May trip. Better late then never!

We're going for my birthday 2 whole weeks after my actual birthDAY! So we're going to celebrate at DLR! No worries! :cool1:

I'm going on a Sunday-Mon-Tues and my birthday isn't until Tuesday, but plan to get my button on Sunday and wear it proudly the entire time!

Last year we were down in DL a week before my moms birthday and we are doing the same this year. But we have been and still plan to celebrate it in the most magical place on earth.

We get her a birthday button. No one questions it by asking for a piece of ID, but they do give many happy birthdays to her around the park and that is really special.

I highly recommend it.

One cast member had the ENTIRE LINE at Autopia sing happy birthday two separate times to two little boys who were wearing birthday buttons. (And if you've ever waited in that queue, you know it's a long one, so imagine 200+ people singing Happy Birthday to you). It was a lot of fun and the smile on their faces made it worth it! I say if it's a trip to celebrate her birthday, then why not?

My DD's B~day is July 3rd, we will never be at DLR on her B~day. I'm hoping for an early June trip next year, we'll pretend June 3rd is her B~day then ;)

My DS's birthday is on May 7th also! We celebrated at DLR last year for the first time and it was great. :)

I admit it.... I was in the Magic Kingdom in December a few years ago and I went to Guest Relations and told them it was my birthday so I could get the button. It was Dec 23rd and my birthday is on Christmas. There was no way we were coming to the park on Christmas and I doubted we would ever, EVER go on Christmas in the future. This was the closest I was ever going to get. So...now you know my dirty little secret. :rolleyes1

We celebrated my DS's 5th birthday last year at DL and he wore his Happy Birthday Pin all five days we were there. I didn't look at it as scamming the system and I doubt DL would either. The whole trip was to celebrate his birthday, not just his actual b-day and every day was wonderfull for him. Can't wait for my DD's turn. :)

(BTW, it used to be a sticker. For my birthday 2 years ago, I was at the park and I got a sticker the same size as the pins they use now)

:rotfl2: :lmao:

I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders ... no wait, that's just the pin lanyard I took off. Nevertheless, it feels good to have it all out in the open now.

We have our trip planned for May 25-28th and we plan on celebrating both my birthday (May 10th) and our anniversary (June 11th) on this trip. I love celebrating at Disney....it makes things even more special! :)

I loved celebrating my birthday at DLR last September. My birthday is actually the end of August, but we couldn't go until Sept. (2 weeks later)

I only wore my birthday button one day, but had a cast member tell me I should have worn it every day since it was my birthday "trip". So proudly wear your birthday button even if it isn't your actual birthday and wear it for your whole trip. It was soooo fun to have people wish me happy birthday the whole day.

On our last trip (2 weeks ago :sad1:) I saw a cast member wearing a birthday button and wished him a happy birthday by name. It was so fun. I think he was a little surprised, but liked it anyway. ;)
