hi all,
just wondering,at wdw can i use a computer or rent one to use? i do not have a lap top,so i was wondering it i wanted to log on and look at some stuff and yes,dis a little is there somewhere on disney that i can use a computer to access the dis???

I haven't been for a couple of years but last time I was at WDW there public computers available all over the place. Many of the resorts have computers near the pay phone banks in the lobby. I have used them at BW, BC, AKL, CSR and CBR. They were also available in all parks and even marked on the park maps.

The cost a couple of years ago was 25 cents per minute. I think that's fairly reasonable especially considering when I cruise on RCCL the cost is 50 cents per minute!

I went in November of 2004 and all the PC stations were pulled out. I couldn't find a single one.

Dan mentioned the business centers at the deluxe resorts. They have a business center at CSR, too. I hustled up there from AKL one morning to check in for our Southwest flight that afternoon. I think it was around $10 an hour, but they would let you use them for airline check-in in for free. Also, IIRC, there were only two PCs in the CSR business center.

I had planned to use one of the kiosk PCs that others have mentioned. They disppeared between November and May trips. I asked at the front desk at AKL and they said the PCs were trouble prone and not serviced by Disney. Too much trouble and they took them out.

I'm disappointed by Disney's failure to embrace technology for their resort guests. I now travel with a laptop and am limited to dialup at their resorts. I've heard about some wireless zones in the deluxe resorts, but haven't stayed at one in a while. I do recall seeing what looked like an ethernet jack below the table at Pop Century.

They don't add it because they don't need to, but I miss it when I stay at Disney World.

do you need to be staying at the deluxe resorts to use the business centers?

No: You pay their fee; they'll let you use their facilities.

That's a shame! I really enjoyed using them to keep in touch with family while at WDW.

ITA! Sounds to me like they're taking a HUGE step backwards in providing amenities for their guests.

When we travelled to Alaska last year all of the hotels we stayed at offered internet service, some for free! The ones that charged had you pay at the front desk and you were given a code to enter for x minutes. This is something guests are demanding more and more. WDW needs to get with the times!

WDW is adding high-speed Internet at all its resorts. During our recent stay at Wilderness Lodge, we had that leading-edge offering available to us. Disney is simply applying a charge to it, commensurate with its value. That's totally appropriate.

I'm glad they're are beginning to offer it. I hope it spreads to the mods and values, too. It was leading edge five years ago. Now it's expected.

Is it a daily fee? How much?

The luxury resorts have them to rent.

Also, if you have a car, go to the Local Library. :thumbsup2
That's what we do on vacation. Also DQ has them (if you can get on).

In and around Orlando there are cyber cafes.

2 1/2 weeks until Mickey!!!
and WARM :sunny:
:cheer2: YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe :moped: see ya there!
