Can I drop one day of my stay without rebooking my reservation?

I'm planning a split stay but still unsure about how I'd like to split the days between resorts. If I book five nights now at resort #2 and decide later than I want to change that first day to resort #1, can I drop the first day without having to cancel and rebook the reservation? Resort #2 is AKV concierge, so I don't want to risk losing the other four days! If this is possible, I assume I'd have to do it by calling MS.

You must call MS to drop a day without risking the total reservation. If on line you must cancel all days and rebook. You may not be able to add a day to your 1st reservation, so check on that before you drop a day.

As noted the issue is timing. You can drop days at the beginning or end of a trip without losing the rest of the trip but you need to do it by phone to MS or via email (which takes longer than phone), so you cannot go online at 7 months out at 8 a.m. and drop one day and then reserve a different room for that day.

What you should do if you want to be able to make the change on line is make two separate reservations at 11 months out, one for the day you want to change at 7 months out and the other for the other days of the trip. Do not ask MS to merge the reservations. Then, at 7 months out you can do the change online for the one day if AKV club level is open. If it is not open, you can then call or email MS and have it merge the reservations you already have.

There are often ways to accomplish the same thing online but it is more complete and usually requires enough points to book duplicate reservations.

I recently booked seven days at Hilton Head online and a few weeks later dropped the first two nights by calling MS.
