Can I drive to Trail's End?

Hello! We went to Trail's End last year, but we did it by driving to Wilderness Lodge and then taking a bus over, if I remember correctly. We're going to be going from ASM to Trail's End and then from there to AK. Trying to figure out the quickest way. We will have a car. Thanks so much!

You can not drive to trails end. You can drive to the fort, park in the parking lot at the front of the campground and take the internal bus to trails ends.

yea we found that out the hard way the first time we went to Trails End we kept driving around the fort trying to figure out where to go and where to park, had to ask a guy on a golf cart what to do lol

As someone already posted no car parking at Trails End. You can park at front of campground and take any color of internal bus as all go to bus depot and make the short walk to Trails. Or you could park and walk from your car but be prepared to walk about a mile each way there and back.

We always drive to the Fort. I like the short bus ride back to the restaurant. Buses are usually there frequently so not a long wait. Nice to go by the cabins and RV's- especially at Halloween or Christmas when the RV'ers deck out their campsites!

Or you can take the bus to the MK and then boat over to FW from there. You aren't too far from Trails End when you get off the boat.

I believe I read somewhere on the boards that if you take one of the new Minnie Vans to Hoop Dee Doo that they drive you directly there and drop you off instead of having to take the internal busses, so I don't see why Trail's End would be any different. Of course you would have the out of pocket expense, so it may not be worth it since you have your own car- only if you're in a time crunch.

Now I'm hungry for Trail's End! lol
