Can I downgrade and add later?

I am not sure where to post this, so I hope that this is the correct place. If not, Mods please move it, thanks.

I have booked our next wdw vacation using the new promo. I have a few questions and I am embarrassed to call WDW and ask.

I have 7 nights/8days with PH and DDP @CBR

Can I down grade my package: Take off 7 tickets, the insurance and dining?

Can I add them later (before) our trip?

I am waiting for our travel insurance money to come through from our last trip and I am a worrier. What if the 45 day mark comes and I do not receive my check, which will allow us to go.

I think if you change your reservation within a certain amt. of days they charge you. I have made changes when I arrived but always added & they never charged me. I can't help you on the downgrade thing.

If you used the buy 4 get 3 free code, you'll have to keep the tickets on there. It's part of the package. You should be able to take off the insurance and dining plan though. I didn't take either of those.

For the new promo, you don't need to purchase big tickets though (just one day base tickets). I don't *think* you can upgrade for three free days with purchase of 4 after Dec. 20 though.

At 45 days before check in, if you downgrade your package there is a $50 change fee. If you upgrade, they'll do that free of charge.

I'm not sure, but I think you may be stuck with insurance. According to Mouse Savers, if you don't remove insurance before hanging up, you're stuck. I have heard some people calling back and getting insurance removed within 14 days though, so I don't know...

In answer to the rest of your question, yes you may modify (remove) the items you want to from your reservation and add them back on later. You must add dining 72 hours prior to check in if you still want it.

So if I have this correct:

I can take off my dining, insurance (maybe) and Park Hopper now. I can add them later and must reinstate the dining at least 72 hours before hand. And, I will not be charged for upgrading.

OK, I was able to take off the dining, PH and Insurance. Yippy!!! I feel so much better. Our WDW vacation will be paid off Friday and I can add everything back on when I get my insurance check...Thank you for your help.
