Can I do TTMM and make DCA rope drop?

We will be doing TTMM on Monday the 24th. How long does TTMM last? Can you ride the rides in that area at that time. I have read conflicting reports that you can and can not ride the rides in TT prior to 9:00.

If you can ride rides in TT during TTMM would you want to or would you be better off doing so on a non-TTMM day at 9:00 when the area opens?

Lastly. If we do TTMM, what time would we need to leave TT to make the walk over to be at DCA? (I am assuming we would want to be there at 9:30) I haven't been to DL for 25 years so I have no idea how long that walk is.

One more thing. Where do we want to wait to get into DCA? We will be staying at GC so would be able to use that entrance if it is better.

Ok. on the 24th TTMM will start by the TT gates opening at 8:00, the same time as rope drop. BY the time you get to TT it could take 15 minutes. The show will start at 8:15ish. Yes, you could make it to DCA by 9:30 and still see Mickey at his house and everything else. Is it worth it? How many days will you be there? If it's your only day or if you are only there a day or two, I would probably spend that first hour in DL riding the other rides and getting a few FPs before you head over to DCA. The only real benefit to TTMM is the show, which frankly our family likes because DD loves it and to see Mickey at his house before the lines get too long.
You can grab a FP for Roger Rabbit at any time since it is not online with the rest of the FP machines at DL. Unless you have small kids, (maybe under 9) they may bot be too interested in Go Go Gadget Coaster. My daughter will be 50 and still riding it as she loves her traditions!
I know that problably did not help you very much. Let us know your dates at DLR and the people in your group (ages etc..) that will help folks give you their opinions and maybe some better help!

Also, to help with the walk, you could take the monorail over to GCH and walk in there. Otherwise, you would enter through the esplanade entrance. FYI 30 minutes prior to DCA opening, Soarin starts letting on riders. However, if you are wanting to get right on to Toy Story, you will not make the first wave of riders. We got a Soarin fp and then waited to be walked over to Toy Story.

Well there are only two rides in TT. Gadget's Go Coaster and Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin. If you go any time before noon, these rides have short lines, but after that, both can have pretty long lines. Roger Rabbit fortunately has FP AND its FP is disconnected from the "system". That means that ONLY for this attraction can you get a FP even if you are already holding onto another FP that hasn't become valid yet. Kinda hard to describe.

Anyway, I've never done TTMM, but I would assume that getting these two rides done along with seeing Mickey and Minnie's House would take about an hour or so in the early morning.

The walk from TT to DCA is like walking from the American pavillion at Epcot to the front entrance (if you've been to WDW before). About a ten minute brisk walk.

Assuming you want to go ride Toy Story Midway Mania first thing at DCA, there are two places to line up. One is by the Sunshine Plaza on the parade route. The other is over by Grizzly River Run (very very close to the GCH entrance). I've experienced different things. One time we lined up at GRR and we were one of the first ones to the ride. This past June when we were let go over by GRR the people from the other rope got there first. It's a hit or miss, but I'd recommend going over by GRR because it's usually less crowded. And if you can make it over to the GCH entrance before 9:30, that would be to your advantage a lot because you would beat the crowds coming in from the main entrance.

I would probably do it on separate days, just b/c no matter which way, that's an annoying amount of walking.

Get out of TT (it has a long entrance with nothing but benches), walk past iasw, around matterhorn, to monorail, then walk from the monorail that lets you off near rainforest cafe and walk halfway through DTD to get to GCH, walk all the way through GCH to the special entrance (or just walk through DTD to the esplanade main gates).... Or just walk all the way out of TT and out of the park to the esplanade.

I personally wouldn't do it.

For me, MTTMM isn't for the rides (especially since there are only two), but for the possible meet/greet that you can get done quicker than on another day (*can*, not *absolutely will*). And yes, on a normal day, get over there a bit before TT opens to get in the line (or "stroller brigade" as I call it) and do the rides then (Gadgets line is long, so I might get a FP for RR and do Gadget's first) and it'll be something like the same thing, ride-wise.


For DCA's rope drop, if you are serious about it, get there at 9 to be right up front. YOu'll be almost alone and feeling silly, but when those gates open at 9:30 (possibly with you inside, b/c the early birds are the ones chosen to open the park) you'll be one of the first getting a FP for soarin' or riding it, and first at the secondary rope to get yourself over to TSMM.

Anyway, I'd do them on separate days.

I appreciate the help. Let me give you some more info. We are staying with the 5 for 3 deal. So we will have plenty of time to hit the rides in TT. My primary question is when is a good time to hit the rides there? During TTMM or another day? Same thing with checking out Mickey and Minnie's houses? For example we are going to have a few hours Friday evening after getting in. Would that be a good time to see Mickey and Minnie's houses or does that need to be done first thing on a morning?

Assuming we are going to TTMM (which with a 3 and 6 year old we will. ) what can we do during that time. Sounds like they start the festivities in TT at about 8:15? The show takes 15 min then we would have 30 min before we should head over to DCA? If I am understanding correctly what can we do with that 30 min in TT?

Generally speaking the walking won't bother us. Our kids are troopers or they can ride on Mom & Dads shoulders if we need to get from point A to B.

I just had another idea, someone please tell me if this would work and how long it would take.

We will be doing early entry on Sat. What if at 8:00 we took a break from our touring to do the TTMM activities? How long of a break would that take from our touring? Being a Sat, would it still not actually start until 8:15?

Since we are staying onsite and have several days of Magic Mornings, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to do this and it would save us having to walk all the way back to toontown just for TTMM.
