Can I make a room only reservation now through AAA, then right before I go change it to a package? Ultimately I want to end up with the Magic Package, one day ticket and Dining. The reason I am asking this is AAA requires 200.00 deposit then final payment for a package is due Jan 3, too close to Christmas! So I was hoping if I booked room only then upgraded either right before or when I got there I could have more time to pay the balance in full without charging it. Thanks! Sandi

You should double check with AAA, but we have booked our next trip through AAA and were told we could add anything on later if we chose to. We couldn't decide on the dining plan at the time and it made the price jump so much ... so we are waiting to see how much money we can save in advance, and we hope to add the dining plan on when we're sure we can pay all that money up front. So I think you can do that ... but I'd double check to be sure. When is your trip scheduled for?

I was wondering this very exact thing! I am going with my mom the week before Presidents week (2/11/06-2/18/06)!

I know that the dining plan would work well for me, but my mom isn't a big eater so I don't want her to be tied down to the dining plan if it isn't going to make sense for her dollarwise...

I was just going to email my AAA agent that gave me a quote for the AAA package and ask her if it was possible to add the package on at a later date.

The quote I got was much better from AAA than DU or the WDW website (about $200.00 less).

Is the room-only deposit with AAA $200.00 or is that just for a package? Do you have to pay the balance of a room-only ressie 45 days prior to arrival?

If you book through AAA, then yes you pay balance 45 days before arrival. If you book through CRO then you only pay one night deposit, then remainder upon arrival. The only thing about booking r/o through CRO is if you want to upgrade to package then you have to cancel r/o, they don't add on or do AAA discount on package. You must go through AAA to get room discount on package.

Do you risk that AAA will not have the package (dining and tickets) available for your dates at the resort anymore? Is the availability strictly tied to the room reservation or are there different availability for packages?

Am I making any sense at all?

Is it just a matter of keeping the original room only ressie and then adding on dining and tickets??
