Can I do this?

My parents and I are all going to WDW in March. We each have our own room reservation. We are on the QSDP because that is what we prefer with the kids. My parents are on the DDP. My mom has offered to keep the kids one evening, and let DH and I go out and enjoy a TS meal.

Is it okay if we switch KTTW cards for the evening so that DH and I can use her plan for a TS meal and she can use my plan for a QS meal with my kids? I don't want to do anything that is not allowed. It just seems like a good way for DH and I to get a night out with mom watching the kids for us. Can we do this? Thanks!

The other issue is that the DDP credits are on the same card as park ticket. So, if either party is going to dine in a park ,you could not get it with the other person's card.

I think your mom could take your kids' card and pay for all their meals from that card, since she would be with your kids. I don't see how you could use hers to go to a TS. I think you are your DH would just need to pay OOP for that date night. Or, go to Epcot and have a World Showcase date night strolling along and sampling counter service treats without the kids.

One more thing: This issue is going to come up every day of the trip if you are traveling with someone on a different Dining Plan. Either they will waste their TS credits by going to CS with you or you will pay OOP to go to TS with them or you won't dine together at least once a day. As long as you know that in advance...

Doesn't matter. The Dining Plan is based off of the occupants in a specific room. Linking the reservations wouldn't do anything in the way of who can use what dining plan credits. You can not use credits for someone not in registered in your room.
