I am flying from Canada and changing planes...can i wrap a case of water in my lugguage and take with me> Or can I take an empty bottle and refill at night in resort?
Can I ship as case of water as a "piece" of luggage? We have free baggage and will not be using all of it, so I was thinking of picking up a case and simply sending it through. Not sure if airlines will allow it though.
Thanks, just wondering if it would be possible to ship the water as a piece of luggage if we decide to go that route?
Um, do you not realize that if your bottles of water break, they will most likely not just get your luggage wet but everyone else's bags who are near yours? And many people pack stuff that would be ruined if it got wet. Even if other people's luggage wasn't ruined, I can't think of anyone who would be happy to arrive and find all of their luggage wet.
I wouldn't think just a case of water would be ok as checked baggage. Those luggage handlers are none to gentle with out stuff. It would be way to easy for them to break, or for it to break in transit.
Why in the world would you ship it as luggage. Airlines charge for checked luggage. And I would have to believe it would be way more than the delivery fee if you use one of the grocery companies that will deliver it to your resort. Not to mention you will, as my family always does, need more than just water in your room, such as snacks, soda, breakfast foods etc... You also have to check about delivery charge because when we recently went to DLR if your order was $50.00 or more Vans would deliver for free. Spending the money on snacks, water, fast breakfast foods for on the go can add up pretty quick. But it can save you huge amounts of money in the park. We have been to WDW many times and DLR just once and we were never stopped from bringing in large amounts of water, soda and food. They really don't care.
yes the reason I am taking water instead of getting it shipped while down there is because we have free luggage with our carrier. Instead of placing it in a suitcase, can I leave it as a case and ship it? Im traveling westjet.thanks
I really think it would get crushed or destroyed. Have you seen how they load stuff on a plane? They toss it on the cart, drive it to the plane, put it on a conveyor, and then a guy in the plane tosses piece after piece of luggage on top of each other. The process is reversed to get the luggage back out. Glass bottles would break and plastic ones would collapse. You'd have to buy a sturdy container to ship it in, and at that point it would be cheaper to but water when you get to Disney.
Yep. The way they handle baggage is true. We watched them load all the luggage (ours included) and they basically toss it up onto the belt. lol
That being said, we took almost a whole case between two suitcases and none of it was harmed. We did pack it between beach towels and clothes and such. But no problem at all. We still had water left and brought it home in the same suitcases. Made it both ways, no problem.
