Can I do this on DXDP?

I've lurked on this website many times, but seldom post. Thanks to all for the great advice.
Anyway, here is my question. We've been considering the DXDP. We are a family of 4 with one DD (5) and one DD (2). I know that I cannot buy the dining plan for the 2 year old, but could we as a family share some of our meal credits with her? I know that we can't share them with members of another party, but since we are all on one reservation would this be possible? Also, could we share some of our adult credits to buy a children's meal?

I think it would depend on your server. We where able to do that last summer at the Plaza. We used a credit for our 1 yr old. I dont remember if we got him a kids meal, or an adult meal.

Why order a whole meal. When honestly you could share from your plates. Two adult meals could easily assist a 2 year old. Not worth the dining plan if your using a credit then. Especially at $30 a day. Just purchase out of pocket for your little ones meal. JW

We were thinking about having the girls share the child credits at almost all of the TS restaurants and then using extra adult credits to purchase a counter service children's meal or two. There may be one TS where we would have to use an adult credit for a child's meal.
Our trip isn't until August, but I am tired of snow and find planning our trip helps get me through these cold dreary days. I am not sold on the DXDP yet, but I'm trying to decide how much versitility it would give us.

At any table service meal you can ask the server to split your meal onto two plates for the child. I did it when my daughter was two and it was great. I think they really just made her another plate because my plate was still full. The child's meals aren't real expensive. You could pay out of pocket for a couple. *Note* Kids her age LOVE the Uncrustables.

We have had 2 adults, 1 child (3+) and 1 child under 3 the last 2 times we went to Disney and we never had to pay out of pocket at any of the meals for our son.

Depending on what was on the menu, we always found a way to split the meals so that none of us left hungry. Sometimes either DH or I would eat the left overs from the kid's meal. Considering, they give a 3 year old the same amount of food as a 9 year old.

It would also be cheaper for you to buy her a meal than to use one of your adult credits.

We had the Deluxe Plan when we were there. My DD was and had child credits and my DS was 1 and he shared with us at every meal. We also never paid out of pocket for anything for him, even when we ordered him a drink, they actually never charged us for it. I agree with the previous poster also, we did a lot of buffets and that seemed to work well for us at that age. The kids ate and enjoyed the character interaction.

Have fun! :thumbsup2
