Can I do this at Disney?

Hi, I'm so happy to be here. I'm doing my wedding ceremony on the beach in Cocoa Beach. After reading a ton of information on this board, I have decided to do an Illuminations Dessert Party. I want to get as much of a Disney experience as possible, so I may have a lot of questions.

Who do I book the Dessert Party with? Can I have decorations and floral on the tables at my Dessert Party? Who do I reserve that with? Can I wear my gown?

I want to do a Wishes Cruise on the Grand One Yacht as a Thank You for friends traveling a day before the wedding, who do I contact to get the boat decorated and possibly serve food on the boat? How many people fit on the Yacht?

I want to do my reception at Disney and have read on this message board about the possibility of using private event rooms i.e. Sonoma Room, Napa Room, White Hall. Are there any other rooms you can suggest? Am I able to have Disney Floral decorate the room? Can I have characters even though I'm not doing my wedding at Disney including the Major Domo?

Can I do the MK Shoot, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot Photo Shoots with Disney?

Can I have a Mad Hatter Cake done by Disney bakery for my reception?

Can I bring in my own DJ or use Disney's Ipod system?

A dessert party at epcot sounds like so much fun!!! Call the wedding department - they could easily set it up for you. A bunch of other girls have done them - I am sure they could tell you much better than I can about all of the details!

We were on the Grand Yacht 1 last fall. We had such a great time! For a sit down dinner I think the max is 4 people. For just hordeurves and drinks I think that disney says the max is 14 but I have read other people saying the max is 20. All of the food is comes from private dining at the resort that you launch from. I am sure the wedding department would be happy to book it, but when we did it we went through I want to say recreation but I am not sure if thats it, it was something like that. Just call 407-WDisney and ask for the cruises from the GF - they will transfer you.

I wish I had def answer for your other questions. I know you can do photoshoots I am not sure what the deal is with wearing wedding attire. I am sure if you are having your reception at disney then it would be fine. I just don't want to say the wrong thing. I would call the wedding department and put everything in a long email to someone.

Well first things first, you do realize that Disney is approx. one hour or more from Coco Beach. It is about 60 miles away so you would have to have a very large gap in between your ceremony and reception. Why not do everything at Disney? I think it would be quite a feat to have a ceremony there and reception at Disney.

To do any of the things you listed you will need to have a Disney Wishes wedding and meet the minimums. You can still have your ceremony offsite if you would like but you will have to meet the required minimum for the time of year and day of the week.

The only exception would be the Grand One and a Dessert Party. If you do not have a Disney wedding than you can not wear your gown to the Dessert Party.

In park bridal portraits are ONLY for Disney brides and there is no way around that one.

Skylarr29 is right, for most of those things you have to have your ceremony at Disney. You can have just your reception there, but I have no idea how much that would cost - I am guessing you'll have to meet the Wishes minimums (is it still $10k weekday/$20k weekend?). If you just want a Disney ceremony and dessert party, and not a big formal reception, you could do an Escape wedding. But if you want a big reception then you'll have to do a Wishes wedding. Any group can have a dessert party, but only brides married in Disney can wear their gown to a Dessert Party. And, unfortunately, you cannot have an in-park photo shoot unless you were a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding (DFTW) bride. I think the advice to go for a Wishes wedding sounds good
