Can I do it by myself?

A friend of mine is going to Orlando April 19th-26th for a professional development course and has invited me to stay with her. The hotel would be free (not sure which hotel or where it is, just that it is in Orlando). I would be travelling with my daughter, who would be 8 months in April. Could I travel and tour the parks with a baby by myself? How do you go on attractions?

I know these sound like silly questions to those who've done it before; I've just never envisioned doing it by myself before. I'm a SAHM so money is very tight but this is a cheap chance in a lifetime.

Absolutely, you could do it yourself. When she was an infant, I took DD to DL by myself all of the time. There are plenty of things that the two of you can ride together. She can sit on your lap on almost any ride without a height restriction. There are also plenty of shows and other entertainment to enjoy. The only thing that you have to be prepared for is not being able to ride the thrill rides, but really they are few in comparison to the number of things that you can do. I would say go and have a great time!

I think the parks themselves would be fine. The only difficulty might be travelling to the parks. If you get a hire car that would be ok, but if you rely on resort buses you might find it tough to fold the stroller then carry it and the bags and your little one on board. I know sometimes we struggled getting on the bus when there were two of us and DD, especially if she was asleep!

Otherwise, you will find it easy. Most of the restrooms they have a large cubicle where you could wheel the stroller in with you. Things like taking a bathroom break can be tough when you are alone with a little one if you cannot take them with you.

Take your wallet, tickets, camera etc in a backpack so you can wear it and hold DD at the same time. Most of the time you will leave the stroller outside an attaction and carry DD on. Your diaper bag can safely be left on the stroller but obviously you would need to carry your personal and valuable items.
