I am going to be staying at ASMu during Easter break. We would like to check-in and get our resort key so we can use the EMH at MK which is at 7AM. I realize that the room won't be ready until much later, but can I check-in as early as 6AM? I've had a CM tell me 7AM is the earliest and another tell me it depends on the resort and I've gotten two different answers from the resort. Anyone ever check-in before 7AM without any problems?

thanks!

We've checked-in as early as 7:00 am and never had a problem. They will store your bags and then you can hit the parks. :)

Not a problem. If you approach the desk with the attitude that all you want to do is check in I am sure it won't be a problem. I have seen people expect their room to be ready at that time.

They will check you in, issue resort Id's and you can be on your way to a park. They will give you a number to call to see if your room is ready. When you get back to the resort you can go straight to your room.

If my memory's correct we've checked in at the following before 7.
All Star Music (5:30!)
Port Orleans Riverside (back when it was Dixie Landings)
Port Orleans French Quarter
Carribean Beach Resort
Wilderness Lodge

We have a long drive to WDW so stay offsite the first night and check in really early on our first real day. The only place where we had any problem at all was the Wilderness Lodge (noone was around who could take a check) but the Front Desk upgraded our room (standard to MK view!) for our "inconvenience".

christophfam,

Totally off topic, but where abouts in Charleston? We will also be there Easter week. Last December we ran into someone in the same camping loop from James Island. We are in West Ashley. Have a safe and wonderful trip!

I've checked in guests at 5:45am before. It was a family from Austrailia, and they had just arrived, and were dead tired. They of course did wish to have a room as soon as possible, so that they could go to sleep. At that time of the morning, depending on occupancy the night before, pickins are SLIM to none.

If there were unoccupied rooms available the night before, it is certainly possible that you could get the room right away. However, those rooms are usually (but not always) the last rooms that one would want. It might be in your best interest to let the cast member know your room preferences, and that you know the room won't be available until much later, and that is okay.

Since it is during Easter Break and they are virtually sold out at that time, you may have a bit of a difficult time checking in. They could hold your luggage for you though while you go to the park. Could you have your resort key seperate from your park ticket?

We usually check in around 7am (after a 5 hour red eye flight). If we requested a certain view, then we wait for the room. but on our last trip, DS started throwing up on the way from MCO to Poly. The CM saw and immediately got us a room! It was SUCH a relief to have that room!

Thanks for the help! It sounds like I won't have any problems checking in as early as 6AM as long as I know our room won't be ready. If we could get a room at 12PM, I'd be thrilled. I won't even be expecting that Easter week. We are staying with my parents in FL the night before so it is just a short drive over that morning. We just want to be checked in so we can take advantage of EMH.

Mrsgus06 we just moved to Johns Island last August from West Ashley (Village Green). We ran into the weatherman on channel 5 (Keith Nichols) on our last trip. It is a 'small world'! :goodvibes

They can give you a room key with the room part unactivated until the room is ready and your tickets on the same card. You can then go to the parks and call back later for your room #.
