This will be our first time flying, so bear with me for asking dumb questions:

1) I've got a small portable travel fridge that runs on car&AC. (Size: probably about 24" by 18 ") It's in a cardboard box that it was originally shipped to me in. Would it be possible to take this as one of our bags and check it in as luggage?

2) Would I need to do anything special to "pack" it?

Thanks for your help!

If it meets the weight requirements, yes. BUT, they will NOT guarantee it's safe arrival. In other words if it arrives broken or denten, too bad.

I wonder if you should consider shipping it to your destination before you leave and have it waiting there for you. I've read about many people on this board shipping a carton of items via UPS or FedEx ahead of time so they don't need to check it with their luggage. Might be worth the cost of shipping it rather than risk it getting damaged.

Not a dumb question, but is it to the right people?

I have no clue, WHAT DOES YOUR YOUR AIRLINE SAY?

That is what matters.
