We will be staying on site for our trip in Sept. I have read on a couple of boards that some people while at WDW have had their credit card numbers copied an used illegally. One was copied( they believe) when it was used to pay for a meal at an on site resturant and the other was copied by an employee at their hotel. Needless to say I don't want this to happen to us:( My question is can I charge the cost of our meals at various resturants on site to our room? I know I can pay with cash, but I don't want to carry it around all day. P;ease let me know your thoughts on this:)

You can charge to your room at most places that serve food. I've heard even some of the carts. You'll still have to give your credit card at the hotel.

I have definately charged back to the room. It would be so much easier than carrying around the cash.

I had not heard about people getting their CC's info stolen at DIsney. How awful!

You can charge back to your room almost anywhere except for a few places in Downtown Disney, at the Swan and Dolphin and at some of the carts ... oh and at the Barber Shop unless they changed that (we found out the hard way)!

You don't even have to have a credit card at all. We left a deposit of Travel Checks. We also did a personal check at the YC and the Poly. No problems.

Charging to the room is a really great thing about staying on-site. It's actually easy to get carried away too. When I carry cash, I only have so much, but with that room card... well, you know what I mean.;)
