Can I change waitlist dates without canceling?

I originally put in waitlist in January but now my dates are slightly changed, backing up by 2 days on the front end and 1 on the back end due to school calendar. Can I call to have them adjust the dates or do I have to cancel and start a new waitlist? I already have a confirmed reservation for a different room type.

If you change your waitlist in any way it will drop you to the bottom of the list (from what I have been told).

That's essentially a brand new waitlist because it's different dates and you would drop out of the spot you are in.

The only thing you can change on a waitlist is the expiration (31 or 7 days). Any other changes require you to cancel that waitlist and start a new one.
